rbslos18 Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Are there any hotel's in London with a shuttle service from Gatwick?
Ine Posted November 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2004 No, only the airport hotels have a shuttle. There is an excellent trainconnection from Gatwick to Victoria Street Station or of course a cab.
vince_g Posted November 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Best you look into National Express, which is like our Greyhound, or the train. Gatwick is quite a distance from central London, and you'd probably cringe at what a cab would cost from there. Don't know what the exchange rate is these days, but back in June my credit card charges were converted at about $1.80 to 1 GBP. On nationalexpress.com they had what they call 'FUNFARES', and we got a bus from Victoria Coach Station to Southampton for 1 GBP each... it was the biggest bargain of the whole trip!! National Express does have shuttle runs between the airports and central London, and they might still have those funfares... Vince
tinkerme1 Posted November 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2004 I highly suggest: www.airporttransfers.biz We used them for all of our transfers in London and getting to Harwich for the cruise. Just tell Malcolm I sent you! They pickup from all airports and hotels. They are a private transport company and one of the best in London! While you are in London, I would highly suggest buying before you leave, the transportation card available for all the underground, buses and trains. They sell the card based on zones, and for very little money, you can travel all around very reasonably.
