Dukegirl5577 Posted December 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2008 I can't tell from the description of the Stingray Adventure whether there's a reef at Blackbeard's Cay or if it's just a beach with stingrays. It does say it's a snorkeling excursion, so I would assume there's a reef there as well, but it doesn't say. Anyone know?
paradise4me Posted December 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2008 It isnt a reef but there were quite a few fish in there. We even saw a barracuda on the other side of the fence. It is a penned off area right off the beach. When we were there a couple weeks ago there were some colorful fish and quite a few big fish swimming with the stingrays. Dukegirl5577 Posted December 16, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted December 16, 2008 Thanks. Would you recommend this excursion? I think I'd probably prefer the Seahorse Sail & Snorkel (which does go to a reef) but my husband is really intrigued about the idea of swimming with stingrays. paradise4me Posted December 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2008 I highly recommend swimming with the stingrays. They have great fish and big rays. Its really cool when they bring out the squid and you get to feed them. One of them reminded me of my dog, he jumped on me and nearly knocked me down-great fun. Another nice part is the access to the beach, restrooms and shop. You can come and go for the afternoon taking breaks and then returning for more snorkeling. I am definately going to do it again!
