cb at sea Posted January 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2009 My advice is to forget them! Who wants to be lugging them all over the ship? Certainly, kids won't want to! If you really feel you must have constant contact, then the ship does rent the dect-phones.

When they are not abused and misused by the kids, the two-ways are very helpful during a cruise. I use the Cobras and they work fine. The stronger the range (15-20 miles), the more certain that they will work on any part of of the ship and near the ship when in port.

CroozeAddict Posted January 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Forget the Dect phones that they rent on the ship. Save your money and get some nice Midland Walkie Talkies. We have the LXT440's and they work just fine and they're not very expensive. Have never had any trouble with them. Can't believe someone said "Who wants to lug them around" ... folks, it's like having a cell phone on your belt.
