Verizon text message charges on the Star Mexico?

According to the Verizon website, it is .50 to send a roaming text message while on an NCL ship.

 

It also lists the 'cellular at sea' charges as $2.49 per minute. Does anyone know if both charges apply for each text message?

 

We are going on the Star to Mexico and are curious what we might be charged to text back home.

 

Would we be billed just the .50 per text or $2.99 (which would include the 'cellular at sea' charges for 1 minute and the .50 roaming)???

If you just text you will only be charged the $.50 fee per text.

And those are charges while onboard and at sea.

 

Charges while in each country will be somewhat different and much less in most cases.

 

The $2.49 is while talking or doing voicemail.

So, at 50 cents to send, it would be best to go ahead and write like a blog (full messages) instead of multiple 'twitters'.:)
