Stillfloatin' Posted January 27, 2009 #101 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Oh I think you will be on the Spirit then. I was looking at anytime between Feb 15th-18th. Well crap on a stick, that won't work. We fly to NOLA on the 14th. And we could have shown you all of our fave machines too! :D

Chipster2 Posted January 28, 2009 #106 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Monica, When you guys coming back to Vegas? Things are pretty slow these days , so I would expect that you must be getting some pretty sweet deals. James, I don't know what Monica might say is her fav 'cause she takes money away from ALL the casinos in town!

Chipster2 Posted January 28, 2009 #108 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Personally, my choice is to stay off the Strip. I avoid it unless there is company in town. A few of the places that I might suggest would be the Rio, The Palms or maybe even the Orleans. The Palms probably being the most expensive of the three hotels. It has been quite a while since I stayed at either the Rio or the Orleans so I can’t help you there.

I'm staying at the Signature at MGM but was wondering what casino floors you suggest to play? I know the older they are generally the looser they are like the Sahara, Bills etc.

Those are probably the two casino's on the main strip that stand out to us as having the best slots. We did OK in Aladin but not great. Aladin was fun, I can tell you that and I really liked the layout of New York, New York. I did good there but Doug did not.

Stillfloatin' Posted January 28, 2009 #112 Share Posted January 28, 2009 John: we haven't been back since the last time we met you there. And yes, we're getting fantastic offers but between our 19-day repo, the holidays, our upcoming cruise and Mardi Gras, my 2 scheduled surgeries, and Tonya's 3-week Colorado rafting trip, it doesn't look like we'll be back until this summer. But, we'll be sure to let you know when we're coming! James: our all-time fave was always the Stardust. We made so much money there. Probably why they imploded it! :D Lately, we've been staying at the Venetian because we get really good offers, but the gaming isn't that great there. I agree with the Chipster, off strip is better. But, on the strip, I'll go with Terry's recommendations. We've done pretty well at TI and MGM also. Harrah's, next to the Venetian is pretty good too. Good luck. Wish we were going to be there with you. You should totally hook up with the Chipster, he really knows his town and he's lots of fun and a good guy like you! :)
Chipster2 Posted January 29, 2009 #113 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Monica, Look forward to your return to our fair city. Next trip is on the Spirit, right? Did you see my pics from the repo cruise? It's a little smaller than the Star but we really liked the ship and had a great time. Thought about doing the Spirit repo once again this fall but it might have been tough getting off for a 16 day cruise, so we booked the Dawn repo instead. If you run into Karan, the concierge on the Spirit, just let him know that John in Vegas says Hi. James, I will have to yield to others that have suggested casinos as I had learned a long time ago that I needed to stay out of the casinos if I wanted to continue living here. AFT_LOVER Posted January 29, 2009 #114 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Stratosphere. Cheap rooms & good machines. The roof top restaurant that goes around Las Vegas once an hour. Do lunch for half the price of dinner. Rides outside on the top. Best one is BIG SHOT. haha so I've heard!! What ones would you suggest?
AFT_LOVER Posted January 29, 2009 #115 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Aladdin is now Sheraton's Plantet Hollywood & San Remo is now Hooters. James.. I would actually suggest the slots are good at MGM. Stillfloatin' Posted January 29, 2009 #116 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Did you see my pics from the repo cruise? No, but I'd love to. I remember what great photos you took from our Star cruise. Can you post a link for me? By the way, are the balcony cabins MUCH smaller than the Star? Also, is there adequate storage under the bed for a large soft-sided suitcase? Chipster2 Posted January 29, 2009 #119 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Monica, We had no problem putting our luggage under the bed and I did not hear of any others in the group complaining either. We lucked out with an upgrade so I do not have the exact measurements you requested. :D If the balcony cabins are smaller on the Spirit at all I believe that it is minimal. No Mini this time? Here is a link to the pics: http://community.webshots.com/user/VegasARGH What beach or resort was this at in Cozumel? We just got back from our 1st cruise and we went to Paradise Beach which someone had recommended. I didn't care for it as it was way too crowded unlike what your pics show. If it was a resort I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee. As it is if we were to take a cruise and couldn't find a beach less crowded I would just stay on the boat. This was an all inclusive resort called Nachi Cocum. I believe it was $49.00 per person and it is limited to 100 guests. Here is a link: http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/CozumelBeachBreak.htm I would highly recommend them for a great beach day.

Chipster2 Posted February 1, 2009 #125 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Ain't that the truth! Me? Not so much but I might have just made one big mistake by taking that upgrade! You really do get spoiled in one of those suites.
