AFT_LOVER Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Just read a new article on the 15 companies to fold in 2009. Again Apollo's newest purchases: Realogy ($9 billion loss) & Claire's ($3.8 billion loss) are on the list. Other losers are Rite Aid, Thrifty & Dollar car rentals, Chrysler who supplies the rental companies their cars. Sbarros, 6 Flags, Station Casinos. Just a few I remembered. Read this article, at least no cruiselines are on it. But will NCL lose with the money Apollo has lost after Linens & Things.

Rare ohioNCLcruiser Posted February 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Krispy Cream actually has some really bad business practices. For example if you see their products in grocery stores they haven't been purchased from Krispy. The store only pays them if they sell the product and I know a lot of money is wasted that way. If they don't sell before the date of expire then they get tossed.

sjbdtz Posted February 10, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Can you ask the people who have told you what's going to happen in 2009, what date the largest lottery will be drawn on....and if they have a moment, the winning numbers...I'd like to buy a ticket. The front page of the paper yesterday proclaimed how slow real estate sales are GOING TO BE, and how prices will be affected...... it winds-up being a self-fulfilling prophesy.... but put another way...it's a guess. If not accurate then, I'm not taking a lot of stock in what they may predict now
LOWTYD Posted February 10, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Wow, I just got done reading my local paper and they said 127 companies in my town closed last year. I didn't even know we had 127 companies in our town. How many companies does Appollo own? Are they like Beatrice? (if any one remenbers that from way back when) Sandy

hazeleyes Posted February 10, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I had read that article yesterday in yahoo. And i was surprised that Six Flags was on it. They charge so much money to get into the park, and each time we went to the park last year it was MOBBED!! I cant understand why they are going under.
