jeanaa Posted November 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2004 Hi, Looking to buy a collection of punched tin mirrors for my home. Has anybody come across some really nice ones in Cabo, Mazatlan, and/or Puerto Vallarta? Thanks!
Cruisin'Round Posted December 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2004 I would actually love some puched copper framed mirrors or punched copper pie safe door inserts. Someone please help us.
bzy1 Posted December 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2004 You will find the majority of punched tin in Oaxaca, but there are some places in Vallarta that will have some selection. The places I have seen the most are in the kioskos on the Rio Cuale Island...not the Mercado Municipal (the flea market) and some other decor stores in the area...(check on Basilio Badillo at Serafina and D'Poala.) This area is great for strolling and shopping and looking around...and drinks or lunch. You can get here by taking a blue and white bus that says "Centro" from the bus stop in front of the white wall on the main road (there is a bus shelter) just hop on for four pesos and get off after the bus crosses the bridge and the Rio Cuale (you have ridden the bus past the Malecon (Ocean boardwalk with sculptures/bars/restaurants/etc.) and about four blocks is the bridge. The bus stop is about two blocks from the bridge, so get off and walk back to where the red steps are on the bridge. Go down and you are on the Island. Shop, shop, shop, and if you want, you can go to the Molina De Agua hotel (right after the bridge) where they have two pools and a beach, which is open to the public if you buy some drinks and/or food. Have fun! This is the coolest area of Vallarta that most cruisers miss because they think there is nothing beyond the Malecon, but surprise, surprise! this is a treasure land of cool places! (Sr. Frog's is down here and some of the top restaurants in Vallarta)
