Bingo on the Star

They have two basic options.

1. Is playing with the hand held computerized bingo cards. You get some huge amount of cards, like 50 or so for x number of dollard. My memory was it was somewhere between $80.00 and $100.00 for us both to have one.

2. Regular bingo cards. I'm so sorry, but we never used those so I don't remember how much they were. I do remember they are a lot more per card but you don't buy as many at a time. For instances you get like six cards for x number of dollars. I just don't remember how many cards you get for how many dollars. I do seem to remember it is less than ten cards.

The prizes were always very low, IMHO, for the amount that bingo costs. Like except for the final nights bingo, I remember the jackpot was always like $300.00 or so. For that little bit of a jackpot possible to be won by only one person in a room full of people, I would rather than that money and try my luck on a slot machine, but we play one or two games of bingo just to have something different to do.

I totally agree...used to play all the time...now I don't waste my time.

I have played bingo several times and must say that in order to win it seems you have to play on the hand held computer version. If you buy the card for $30 a session you are just contributing to the kitty. I have never seen anyone win with the "cheap" cards. It is fun, but I think I'd have more fun in the casino and you don't have to listen to the silly bingo jokes.

I could imagine playing Bingo on board exactly twice! The first time and the last time. I could understand a social angle but in my experience it's all "eyes down".

..

The funny part is, you don't even have to watch your cards...the machine tells you when you have a bingo! Takes all the fun out of it! :p

Too bad if everyone takes the machine everyone has the same chance of winning, you only have an advatange over those who just purchased the paper.

Personally, I play on paper. If you pay $5 to play on paper you win the same $300 jackpot as the person who paid $100 to play the machine. I have seen 3 or more people hit bingo at once and win less than they paid to play. I don't really consider that being a winner. :)

Plus, staring at the box and waiting for it to tell me I won seems pretty boring.

I agree! Pretty boringly expensive!

I won $38 the first time I played...got me back about half of what I paid to play. I guess it's better than nothin'

I played one more time....and the prices of the "packages" keep going up each day....didn't win and packed it in...no more for me! :p

I want to say I would never do this but I thought it was a neat idea that I read about here on CC , especially for families. I read that this one family could buy bingo sheets at their local dollar store. So they would buy a bunch of those and take markers with them. They would all get a table in the back of the lounge where the bingo was going on and play quietly themselves as a family. They had brought some very inexpensive prizes to give the winners.. candy bars, little toy cars, etc. I think the winner got to choose their prize so the partents got the candy bars and the kids got the toy cars. Anyway.. I thought this was a neat way for a family to have fun onboard at little cost to them.
