Hokies of the seas Posted March 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2009 My family is planning a large group cruise for about 20 people in January 2010, and by then our soon to be first child will be 7 months old :)! We're all planning on a cruise that goes to Half Moon Cay, San Juan (during the daytime), St. Thomas and Grand Turk. HMC and Grand turk, we're just planning on making it a beach day, but aren't sure what to do in the other two ports. ANY suggestions would be very helpful! cb at sea Posted March 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2009 Do whatever YOU want to do---a 7 month old won't care and certainly won't remember ANY of this! There's easy walking distance shopping on St. Thomas---and SJ is also a walker-friendly port--at least, Old San Juan is. You don't have to stay off the ship the entire time it's in port---the ship is a lovely place to be when most of the passengers are gone! And don't plan on doing everything as a "group"--that's really frustrating, as everyone has their own pace...a baby will slow down the "speedy" folks, and not everyone is going to want to do everything! Let everyone plan and do what interests them! You can "catch up" at dinner!
geegee1 Posted March 2, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2009 we brought our 7 month old to the beach, shopping, eating and drinking in St Thomas. in san juan we brought her to the fort with us. you'll learn as you go with the child. the most important thing is to make sure you bring enough diapers, wipes and food for the child when you are off the boat.
