teahoney Posted March 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2009 (edited) I hear everyone talk about the ports, what there is to do during the day on the boat and the shows. But I haven't heard anyone talk about the dancing. That is one of the main things myself, brother and sister are looking forward to...getting our boogie on. How is the dance club on the boat?? Is there more than one place to go dancing? Edited March 2, 2009 by teahoney
Curt Jerome Wild Posted March 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2009 As far as your original question, the nightlife (dancing) on Carnival really depends on the ship class. So there is no way to answer for everything. But, considering that you have booked the Sensation (a Fantasy Class ship), then you have chosen very wisely! The Fantasy Class ships have some of the best nightlife around! Pretty much all of the music/dance clubs are all in the same area of the ship - so it leads to really good club hopping throughout the night. Usually ending up at the disco, then head for pizza at 3 or 4 AM! So just get out there after dinner, hop from club to club to see where the action is (sometimes on each cruise, it starts in the karaoke lounge, or starts in the live music club)... Each cruise will be slightly different, just depending on the group of cruisers that you are with... But also, pay attention, or prepare - usually the Elegant night will be the latest night in the disco. Most of the time, the officers and crew, will end up there late, late, late! Hope that helps! Anjel2117 Posted July 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2014 How was the nightlife on sensation? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Forums mobile app
tattoos Posted July 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2014 If you like to dance, don't miss Motown night on the Sensation. The live band plays near the casino bar and they had everyone on the floor dancing, people were even leaving their slot machines to dance.
RuthlessBoss Posted July 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I'm guessing that ship would be active because of the shorter cruise days. People tend to cram everything in during that time.
VacationCrazee Posted July 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 31, 2014 General rule: The shorter the cruise, the younger/livelier the passenger base. With that said, Carnival passengers in general are a pretty lively bunch so any ship in any class is going to be just as or more lively than any other cruiseline/ship in the industry. Some ships are more lively than others but it is the luck of the draw depending on the passengers on your particular cruise. People who like lively and fun atmosphere a.k.a. roaring after dinner fun generally are drawn to Carnival ships.

People who like lively and fun atmosphere a.k.a. roaring after dinner fun generally are drawn to Carnival ships. As a very frequent visitor of the nightclubs on ships, I can say this is pretty accurate. I will add one more component to it.. The time of year can also matter. I have found that when there are a ton of kids on board (aka the summer), the nightlife suffers a bit because of families. When its during a non-peak time and the rates are lower, the nightlife is usually better, because of the young professionals who can take vacation days and cruise... VacationCrazee Posted July 31, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2014 Very true Rocketship. . . Very true. I am cruising late sept/early oct on the Breeze and expecting that most of the ship will be either non-working (a.k.a retired), empty nesters or young, carefree and childless bc this will be right at the beginning of the school year in the U.S. and most parents (not all) will not take their children out of school for a week so early in the year. Tends to be a nice mix of folks during this slow period of the year for cruising. This is also the time of my birthday and I often vacation/cruise during this time period bc there are few children onboard the ships or at the resorts. I have cruised a few times during the summer and the number of children and their harried/frazzled parents are just a bit much for my empty-nested idiosyncrasies. RayRay813 Posted August 2, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2014 I did a 3 day on the Sensation during my university's spring break a couple of years ago. The nightlife was great! My friends and I hit the club every night and had a blast. I'll be on the Victory during the last week of this month and I'm hoping lil' kids will be scarce since most public schools in Florida start back the week before we cruise. I'm also hoping the clubs are poppin' and college folks come out for a last hoorah before classes begin. *fingers crossed* :D
keystonemama Posted August 2, 2014 #15 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Sailed her and Ecstasy and nightlife is good, no worries. Disco will be hopping and Lido at certain times. We usually are up until 2 or 3 a.m. and we are in our 40's, lol.

I agree your statement concerning the night life on the fantasy class ships. If I recall there is a dance club next to the Disco that had bands( when I cruised on the Sensation). The Fantasy class ships are made for deck parties you will have a blast. Gary
