we will be going on a 11 day southern caribbean cruise in December. How can I phone home to check with the kids?? My cell phone will not work, and the phone card is no good. I do not want to spend a fortune.

Any ideas ?????

thanks.

I'm not sure about the southern caribbean ports, but when i went to cozumel, jamaica, and grand cayman last year, they all had international calling stations close to the piers. I think I paid for a phone card that cost 45cents/minute. I think the Daily Compass had directions to the calling station. You might also post on the forums boards for each port you would like to call from to see if anyone can tell you where the calling station is for your ports so you will have an advance idea.

I bought a international calling card from Radio Shack for $10 and I read other people have too. I think that will gave us an hour of calling which equals out to around .16 a minute which is alot cheaper then buying the calling card on the islands. Hope this helps and happy cruising.
