Don't Check Your Baggage?

Recommended Posts

My wife and I never check our bags. We've been cruising for about 15 years and in addition normally take one or more annual non-cruise trips to Europe or the UK.

Well, if you get on later, at least late enough that byou should have access to you room it would be fine.

I check the bags for a couple of reasons:

1. I get to the ship very early, and am usually on board by 11:30am. I just don't want to have my bags in tow for the lido deck lunch, and my first DoD.

2. I usually put a couple of bottles in my luggage. 24 of water and some liquor. It seems easier to have them take it onboard, than risk a search during the boarding process. Not that I am doing anything wrong...

NOW with that said, there was one time that I arrived only half an hour before departure. Bad weather and bad flights, even though I started the day before. On that occasion I carried on...

We check our bags. We like to be one of the first on board so we have time to explore the ship and see where everything is before it gets full of people. Don't want to be dragging around luggage while we snoop around LOL. We take a carry on with all meds, camera etc in it and leave the check the rest.
