Help on what to expect on NCL Baltic excursions

Recommended Posts

I did not see a post specifically dealing with this so I thought that I might get some feedback here. I am wondering what to expect on the ship shore excursions in terms of what transportation will be like. We are taking the NCL Baltic Capitals cruise. I am a pretty big guy (ok, very big) and am concerned about just how packed in to expect to be on any buses and the like that the excursions use. I really want to avoid both an uncomfortable trip for me and, more importantly, making other passengers uncomfortable.

Thanks for any help or advice.

My wife and I are both big people. We do indeed feel pretty packed in on most tour buses. We can manage it for a short tour but an all day trip will leave us feeling sort of squished.

In many cases we use a private driver and vehicle. It is often not much more expensive than the ship's tours and a lot more comfortable. We are also a bit mobility limited (well, slow!) and like to go at our own pace.

I think you will be OK with the ship's tours, but you should check out the private guides too.

Check out our review and pics at http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/baltic.html

and you can see how we did it comfortably.

Have a GREAT cruise!
