exarche02 Posted May 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Does anyone know of any day tours of these castles that depart from anywhere other than Munich? Thanks!
Globaliser Posted May 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2009 Possibly Innsbruck, which is another reasonably big city about the same sort of distance away?
keltic Posted May 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2009 From Stuttgart as well, but not in a regular basis.

Rare xpcdoojk Posted May 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2009 Why not just rent a car? The roads are easy to drive, especially with a GPS, and you have ultimate flexibility on where and how. The only thing is generally the rental cars are standard transmission, but you can get an automatic for a bit more money. I would say border crossings are not a problem but the Austrian's are a bit finicky at times on entry. Just make sure you get an autobahn decal if the car rental company doesn't provide one if you are going to cross the borders. We drove all over Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland last summer and had a great 16 day vacation. The castle is amazing, but then there is so much that is amazing in that portion of the world. jc
keltic Posted May 21, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 21, 2009 Yes sure. Stuttgart one is http://www.binder-reisen.de When I lived there, I went with them. They had many day tours, and short breaks, and these castles were in program as well quite frecuently.
