MKSquared Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 We were planning to visit friends in Paris next year. We have about 10 days or so altogether, and thought we'd visit with our friends for several days (maybe 3 or 4) and then wondered if there was a cruise of some kind that would go along the northern coast of France up along Belgium and then to Amsterdam that would only take maybe 5 or 6 days? Does anyone know of such a cruise?

Does anyone know of such a cruise? There are no cruises like this available from France. But you can check with P&O and Fred Olsen http://www.pocruises.com http://www.fredolsencruises.com they have short cruises like Southampton - Zeebrugge (for Bruges) - Amsterdam - Southampton You can reach Southampton by direct Air France Flights - or ferry connection from Le Havre to Porthmouth Other options are river cruises which are going between Belgium and the Netherlands. Ine Posted June 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2009 No unfortunately you will not find a cruise like that. In spring there will be few cruises from e.g. Barcelona to Amsterdam or Copenhagen and reverse in fall when those ships are repositoning. Otherwise you option is to take a train or what Hein suggested.
MKSquared Posted June 1, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Thank you for your quick replies, HeinBloed and Ine! It's always amazing to me that there are strangers out there so willing to help. I checked those websites (and a couple of others), HeinBloed, and it appears as though the end of March/beginning of April is not a time when there are many short cruise selections in that area. Looks like that may be something for a different trip. We've been to Paris and, although we want to spend a little time visiting our friends, we are checking into options for a short 'secondary' excursion while we are there for the week or ten days -- looks like a train or car trip may be our best bet. Thanks again!! :-)
