Anyone stayed at Best Western or Holiday Inn Downtown Long Beach?

They both provide park n cruise rates and just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with either company. Best Western seems to be my number one pick right now but they do charge about $50 more. How about near by attractions and/or good places to eat? How do their locations vary? Thanks!

The Holiday Inn is at 10th/Atlantic in a dicey area. I wouldn't venture outside the hotel grounds. The Best Western is about 1/4 mile west on Long Beach Blvd., also in a high crime area. I would stick to the hotels on Ocean Blvd., but they may not have a parking special. There is another Holiday Inn in Long Beach near the airport that is in an okay area.

 

If you are cruising out of Los Angeles (San Pedro), the hotels near the cruise terminal are okay. Check Crown Plaza and Doubletree.
