MrPete Posted June 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2009 I actually felt like I could be on a ship again! Real ship shots! (till the very end :( )
CruiseKeeper Posted June 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2009 I'm looking forward to seeing the new commercials without the cartoons. I think the ships and ambiance can sell themselves.
aurelius180 Posted June 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2009 I just say one on TV a few minutes ago and thought the same thing. I heard it in the background while on the computer and didn't even realize it was for RCCL. No more stupid deep voice talking about the "Nation of Why Not." Cruzaholic41 Posted June 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2009 Oh thank goodness. Those Why Not commercials suck. RCI needs to spend more time showcasing their ships. That is, after all, what sets them apart.
Texas Teen Posted June 20, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 20, 2009 Is this a UK Advertisement? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxRGiYdwXrE It's actually a little better than the previous Nation of Why Not Commercials! Real camera shots in some areas! (until the very end.) But I still miss lust for life!

DEIx15x8 Posted June 20, 2009 #13 Share Posted June 20, 2009 That UK ad is way better. The ship has such a wow factor on it's own that their exaggerated cartoons actually down played it. Anyone ever seen this ad: It's was in the related list of that UK ad. It's actually kind of cool except it's not english, not really sure where it's from. Add an English version of that song and I think it would be a hit here in the U.S.
andy1962 Posted June 20, 2009 #19 Share Posted June 20, 2009 This is an add in Spain or made for Spain from the spanish phrase at the end of it..... That UK ad is way better. numberguy Posted June 20, 2009 #20 Share Posted June 20, 2009 This is an add in Spain or made for Spain from the spanish phrase at the end of it..... And I think from the word "castellano" in the title--I think "castellano" means "Castilian" in Castilian (one of the dialects of Spanish in Spain). But what do I know, I'm an American who speaks fractured French. --Michael

critterchick Posted June 21, 2009 #22 Share Posted June 21, 2009 And it wasn't ?porque no?, either. It was making your dreams come true, or something like that. In Italy many of the busses have RCI ads on their rear ends. They showed lots of people having fun and the phrase was simply "perche no?" It sounds much better in Italian, very carefree. And none of those characters out of "1984" either.
