sotonjoe Posted July 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Hi All, I currently have the above cabin booked for a summer cruise. I'm a bit concerned as it appears to be the only cabin of its grade sandwiched between a pair of interconnecting rooms and a series of rooms with an additional sofabed. Can anyone advise as to whether this is a 'good'? I'm concerned that the adjoining rooms will attract families and that I should relocate to somewhere with adjoining cabins of an identical grade. Incidentally, how thick are the walls? Does kids next door = hearing every word they say? thanks
serene56 Posted July 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2009 only one side of you is a cabin that sleeps more then 2 people- the cabin on the other side only holds two. You are not in the connecting room so you wont have a lot of noise. My concern-- what is the white are across the hall from you?
cb at sea Posted July 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2009 The cabins are well sound-proofed...you won't have undue noise from either side of you OR across the hall. I'm not quite sure why folks are so concerned about noise....there's nothing that noisy on a ship!
serene56 Posted July 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2009 when you are above a band that is playing under you and can hear that thump thump thump when you are trying to sleep or be across the hall from a room service holding room-- where those people who deliver slam the door open and shut all night long. Ever try sleeping under the pizza kitchen??? now that was a yuck. I know that people that are cruising can sometimes be a PIA because not everyone thinks of others.. but on the ship we can control the noise from the surrounding areas where we can be located.
