LADYLAYLA Posted July 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2009 Canaletto is an Italian style restaurant that HAL startes on Eurodam and is being put on all their ships. It is free and only requirement is to make reservations AFAIK
jtl513 Posted July 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2009 It is only open for dinner. At lunch and breafast the tables are simply part of the Lido.
Rare sunviking90 Posted July 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2009 We tried this recently and loved it! At first I wasn't expecting much as it is really just a modified section of the Lido, but it was great. Usual Italian style entrees like veal and chicken marsala. The seafood linguine was great. Service was wonderful. We went 2 nights in a row even though we weren't sure we wanted Italian food again, but we had been disappointed in the Dining Room service and Canaletto was such a treat! Tiramisu was fantastic (like real Italians make).
catl331 Posted July 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2009 Orignally there were seven different menus announced. How often are they changing them now?
Rare sunviking90 Posted July 5, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2009 Orignally there were seven different menus announced. How often are they changing them now? On our sailing I asked the Maitre d' if the menu changes, and he said no. It was the same on both nights we dined there.
messymarie Posted July 6, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Why is it free when you got the dinning room to eat in.
LADYLAYLA Posted July 6, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2009 To give the passengers another choice. On may eat in the Dining Room, the Lido, Canaletto or Room Service for no additional fees
brucory Posted July 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Why is it free when you got the dinning room to eat in. Canaletto expands the choices and options for dining... Adding an additional no pay option, by mostly using existing hardware is a great idea and has been received well. Bring it on!!! We all love choice!!! :D:D:D
