Travel_Maven Posted July 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2009 What else is a must do in Denali National Park other than the Park Shuttle to Eielson and a Flightseeing tour? We will have 2 half days plus 1 full day. Thanks!:)
frugaltravel Posted July 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2009 1) get off the bus 2) get off the bus 3 get off the bus Seriously, I really feel people miss a lot by not getting off the shuttle bus. I was at Denali later in May and also had 2 half days and one full day. I went into the park 4 times during that time. The more times into the park, the more chances to see wildlife and the Mountain. One trip = very little wildlife. But another trip later in the day I saw a lot of wildlife. You can most likely take a shuttle to Toklat on the day of arrival or departure. Also lots to do near the entrance. Check out http://www.nps.gov/dena.

Rafting, fishing, drive to Denali State Park. Chris
wolfie11 Posted July 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Drive your car or take the shuttle to Savage River very early in the morning and/or later in the evening. Many more animals with no buses. My friend watched a lynx there for 30+ minutes a few evenings ago.
Warrior1 Posted July 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Dog Sled demo was fun. You also have time to interact with the dogs.
