Are the fish biting yet?

We are scheduled to go salmon fishing next week while on our Alaskan Cruise - can anyone who has just returned tell me if the fish have been biting? :confused:

We fished salmon in Ketchikan on the 6th of July and the kings were done there. Four of us did land 12 pinks though. We fished with AAA Sportfishing (Captain Jerry Meacham) and would recommend him.

 

We had friends that did the Carnival fishing excursion and it was a total scam. $379.00 per person in a 16 foot lund boat with no bathroom facility and no capabilities to even go where the fish might be!

 

We fished halibut/salmon in Sitka on the 3rd of July and the kings were done there as well. We caught no salmon but did get a couple halibut.

 

My recommendation would be to google charter fishing operations for the ports you plan to fish in and ask them ahead of time what, if any, salmon are available.
