mmpadp Posted July 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2009 I'm planning to book a 2 1/2 hour early morning excursion to Acadia National park and Cadillac mountain on Sept 21st. I know no one can predict the weather, and I'm willing to take my chances, but does anyone know if Bar Harbor is fogged in in the mornings more than 50% of the time. If so, I may reconsider and schedule a time after the fog burns off. Thanks in advance for any info.
Jan_In_Maine Posted July 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Fog doesn't usually last that long - (but if it is misting then perhaps) - I have never worried about fog along the coast. Jan
Jan_In_Maine Posted July 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Forgot to add - check the tide schedule for Bar Harbor for when you are there. All tours will stop at Thunder Hole as part of the mountain. You need to be there right before high tide to get the full effect of the thunder. arizonaperson Posted July 31, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2009 No,no one can predict what the weather will be like on the day you are in Bar Harbor. When I went on my New England/Canada cruise 9/30/07 we ended up in the bay of Bar Harbor and did not go ashore as it is a tender port. It was too foggy, we could not even see the land. So I am going to attempt to go again this October.
