ATM questions for foreign ports

We will be in Italy, Greece, Croatia, and Turkey on our cruise next month. I have read repeatedly that the best and least expensive way to get foreign currency is by using foreign atms.

 

I have two questions:

 

1. Is there any problem getting English as the language to use in the atm transaction?

 

2. How much are the atm charges? My bank has told me that my debit card will can be used as an atm card and they will reverse any charges up to $6 total. How many freebie uses will this get me?
