patkat Posted July 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I just realized that the balcony room I chose on Vision of the Seas is a connecting room. I like the location better than the others available - mid-ship but far enough away from the elevators - but I am wondering if the connecting rooms are noisy. Reading general recommendations about cruising...all say to stay away from connecting rooms whenever possible. Any general opinions of adjoined rooms for Vision OTS or Vision-class ships? Thanks! BBoomer Posted July 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Yes, stay AWAY from connecting rooms. Been on twelve cruises with different cruise lines and the two cruises with connecting rooms had kids next door and it was noisy expecially on RCL and especially during the X-mas and new year cruises. vickiw0318 Posted July 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I've cruised three times in connecting rooms and never heard a peep from my neighbors. Guess it's the luck of the draw.
BayStateguppy Posted July 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I just had connecting cabins on the Serenade and can verify that if both doors are shut, you can not hear a thing from the other room.
cb at sea Posted July 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I would imagine it would totally depend on how loud your neighbors are! Normal conversational volumes shouldn't be heard!!! Now, you will be able to hear your neighbors on your balcony--and that goes for ANY balcony--after all, they are open spaces!
grneyes Posted July 28, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2009 Our daughter had a connecting room and she heard everything the people next cabin said. They spoke so loud!!! I would change cabins.
mustangmike Posted July 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 29, 2009 We had a connecting cabin on our Vision cruise last Fall. Only an occasional noise could be heard through the door. The one down fall was that we had a chair instead of a couch, due to the door.
patkat Posted July 29, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted July 29, 2009 Thanks for all the tips - the chance of noise did not overly concern me. But the chair does...I liked having the little sofa to stretch out on. Appreciate the advice!
