cruisingbarb Posted July 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2009 Can't say enough about Guido. The first day, we had a group of ten. Guido met us in front of our hotel with two air conditioned vans. He drove us to San Gimignano and gave us some commentary on the way of what we were going to see. He dropped us off for a couple of hours and let us roam on our own. He then drove us to Siena, again, telling us what to see and do and where to eat, and then arranged to meet us in a couple of hours. On the way back to Florence, he made a detour to a small hill town for a brief stop. Everyone agreed that it was the only way to go, having someone do the driving and narration while we just sat back and looked. The second day there were 4 of us. The first stop was in the town of Vinci to see the Leonardo di Vinci museum which was interesting. We then stopped by the house where di Vinci was born. The next stop was at a small local winery. Guide's expertise is wine so we had quite the education on the way to the winery. Once there, we met Ava who gave us a tour and then proceeded to poor various wines for us to taste. Then her husband Leonardo joined us in their dining room for a typical Italian lunch. It was great. Afterwards, he took us to a small hilltown where he parked at the bottom and we had to take a tram up to the top to see a typical hilltown. All in all, it was a great day, and I would highly recommend Travels In Tuscany
