What Would You Like To See Go Away On Cruises?

Get rid of the passengers that seem to think its ok to leave glasses, plates watever in elevators, on handrails etc. I understand placing them outside your cabin door but its amazing the places you find dirty dishes.

Agreed! I hate seeing others' dirty dishes. Waiters do not roam the halls looking for your dirty dishes. If you eat in your room, keep the dishes in your room until the next time your steward service your room, or rouse yourself enough to take the tray back to the lido.

There are fancier, more expensive cruiselines that include butler service to take care of your room service dishes for you.

No flaming. There are a few wonderful NON-SMOKING cruises. Maybe you should consider them so your allergies won't be affected.

I've looked for non-smoking cruises, and I couldn't find any. If someone would kindly point the way to some examples, that would be great!

So I guess I've given my answer: I'd end smoking on cruise ships. I'd love to go into a bar or a casino and not have to deal with cigarette smoke. Nothing against smokers--I know it's a right--but it is difficult for people like me to have to limit our activities due to respiratory issues. We wanna play with the big kids, too! :)

I'd like for the muster drill to be finished before the ship leaves dock, so everyone can enjoy sail away.
That has happened on my last eight cruises, two in 2007, four in 2008 and two in 2009. One on NCL, two on Carnival, and five on Royal Caribbean.

I would like Carnival to get rid of the CD Morning show. the one or two times I watched it was really lame, especially when on the Freedom's Poolside screen.

I would like Carnival to add more cooking demos

The Morning shows with John Hearld, was one of my favorite parts of the cruise.....

Balcony smoking - make half the ship smoke free and the other half could be for those that smoked or those that did not mind if others smoked. We have quit spending the extra on balcony cabins - but when I do the Alaska or Hawaii cruise will be booking a balcony for sure and I do not want my time on the balcony ruined because of nasty smoke smell.

Half the ship is already smoke free.....the interior. :D

"I would like to see the current photo display system- go away on my next Carnival Cruise". Feel free to add "I would like to see the ability to view my own pictures on the cabin tv so I can order only the ones I like without spending wasted cruise time searching for my pictures added."

I think this is a wonderful idea. My husband and I always like to wait until the last afternoon of the cruise to decide what pictures we want to buy, but I HATE having to make my way through the hoards that are always in the picture area at this time, trying to find my pictures, half of which are always hidden behind someone else's photos. But the one embarrassing photo in which I have some weird expression because I was caught off guard or something, that one is always right out front for the entire ship to see. But I agree with you, it would be wonderful if they would come up with some electronic system where passengers could access their photos from the stateroom TV and whichever ones they decide to order could be delivered to their room or else picked up from the photo counter. I would think this would cut down on the cruise line's costs as well, as this means they wouldn't have to print all those 8 X 10's that go to waste.

They do it like that because of herd mentality. People see people shoving and buying and they get caught up in it... start doing it themselves and the next thing you know you have bought some photos... you get back to the room and wonder what am I doing with a photo or a "pirate"? lol

I would really like the "Parents" (???) of all the children who congregate and block the stair wells, continually ride the elevators up and down and run through the hallways, to teach their children some manners and respect for others.

the photo thing... I love having our picture taken, but it is so hard to find them...and what a waste of ink and paper...we just got back from disney and they have the greatest system. We got a card with a barcode on it, every time they took a pic they scanned our card...and for 149.00 we could buy a DVD with all the pics on it and a license to print pics! Work better than any system I have ever seen! And, we got a code deal, that made the DVD even cheaper!

So, I want carnival to learn a little something from Disney on this one!

edited to add: I love the singing waiters...and all the fun stuff...so there are people who do.... :)

1. Per drink charge -- Just pop the price of my cruise up and keep the bars nice and open, please.

2. The SeaMiles Hard Sell -- I'm still not signing up for your terrible credit card. Feel free to stop mentioning it.

3. Singing and Dancing Wait Staff -- I can't even begin to tell you how offensive I find this. Like, I'm seriously not kidding. All we need is the wait staff singing Stephen Foster songs to really drive the point home.

4. Strollers -- I get that it's easier on parents to strap their offspring into a wheeled chair. But it's not a battering ram, people.

5. Port Talks -- Call it what it is, a run-down of CCL's preferred vendors and leave it at that. Don't pretend there's any sort of cultural component to it.

6. The Self-Debarkation Free for All -- I get that people want to get their trip home started, but for the love of all that is good and holy, if you have more bags than you have hands, DO NOT DO SELF-DEBARKATION. Put the bags outside like a sane person. If you can't handle your luggage then let the cruiseline handle it for you.

So I am getting a real wishy washy feel about your post that you have no strong feelings on the subject....

Whiny older people who don't like children. Carnival features the Fun Ships. Lovey and Thurston Howell need not apply... er, sail.

The two cruises that I have been on with Carnival, the kids were well-behaved. The only ones activing juvenile were older people who just seem to want to complain about everything.

Please do have an elders cruise.

having drinks not included in the cruise fare!:d

while they are at it, how about a cruise line for our "elders" who appear to have lost the ability to tolerate children during their golden years......

You mean like the older lady who went into the pool with a swim cap on and complained because two children were swimming and "splashed" her as they swam???? Hello..... you are in a pool ... expect to get wet! It was almost as bad as the people who are in the pool or ocean and leave when it starts to rain!!! Sorry, had to vent.

Get rid of the people who are complaining about what people would like to see go away on cruises.

That is what the thread is about, people! If you don't agree with what they want to see gotten rid of, that's fine, but don't complain about them. Good grief!

For me, I will join those of you who would like to see the singing/dancing done by the waiters in the dining rooms go away. They have enough to do waiting on people. So many times they are trying to deliver food, refill drink glasses, etc. and have to stop and go sing and dance. I always feel sorry for them being forced to do that. :(

I also don't like muster drill taking so long that sail away has already started before the drill is over. Move it up half an hour so it's done before sail away starts.

2 things here - One, the coast guard has the right and ability to monitor/run the drill... if you have stood outside for an hour and heard many comments you have most likely went thru one with the coast guard observing.

Two, Carnival has to make sure ALL passengers are on board prior to starting the drill. They cannot start until all passengers are either on or are accounted for (going to miss the ship)... one way to make sure of this is to be pulling away from the pier.

I dislike it's timing/doing it but I understand....
