southbayer Posted August 20, 2009 #276 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Would I would like to see gone on Carnival and other lines too, is the stupid confusing classifications..... For me, you either have a inside, oceanview, balcony, or suite, that is either on this deck or that deck, and your on the aft or forward or center part of the ship. For example I would say to someone yeah, I got an oceanview room on Main Deck middle of the ship - thats it, easy.

seacats Posted August 20, 2009 #280 Share Posted August 20, 2009 I would like the serenity area to be more serene, no piped in music. I bring my ipod or a book don't need muzac. Port side on Fantasy was non-smoking but not enforced, actually saw a woman putting out her cig on the wooden deck around the pool.

kandrsmommy Posted August 20, 2009 #282 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Kids I'll drink to that! :D I would get rid of the people who hate kids. And if only the kids would stay out of the adult only areas, it might be better, but some parents don't seem to want to follow the rules with their kids. I love the pics poeple take of the adult hot tubs, 'adult only sign' clearly visible, and the tub is full of kids!

Thoth Posted August 20, 2009 #285 Share Posted August 20, 2009 There are those who become all so thin skinned concerning their beloved profane comics and that same lot confuses porn with art. One can call someone a crass lecher and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy of sorts, ironically enough. They will tell you off in a very crass manner . Anyway back to the topic at hand..... Of those who proclaim..."If you don't like the nudity or f-bombs, don't go to the shows" , The same logic could be stated. "if you don't like singing waiters, don't eat in the dining room" "if you don't like Karaoke don't sing" "if you don't the pool, don't swim" "if you don't love loud kids, don't sail" "if you don't like walkie talkies, don't buy one" "If you don't like chair hogs, don't go on deck" "if you don't like photographers, don't get your photo taken" "if you don't like hairy chest contest, don't go" "if you don't like smokers, don't sail" "if you don't like formal nights, don't eat in dining room" "if you don't like red, white & blue game, don't play" "if you think Carnival could improve...don't sail Carnival" I enjoy the singing waiters, but I don't tell off those who don't. I enjoy Karaoke but respect that not everyone does. I enjoy the pools, but understand some prefer freshwater pools. I don't mind kids, but understand some prefer adults only. I don't smoke but don't care if you do I enjoy my photo being taken, but respect that you may not. I love Carnival, but offer friendly suggestions on improvement. I'm sorry, but that's just logical. If you don't think Carnival is a good product for the price, don't give them their money. That's Econ 101. Same thing with the others (except the few you take to some sort of logical extreme). If you don't like karaoke, why *would* you go? To sit there and shake your head and make snippy comments and feel all kinds of superior? If you don't want to see the hairy chest competition, why would you go to that? So you can play Maude Flanders and be outraged? I enjoy the singing waiters, but I don't tell off those who don't.I enjoy Karaoke but respect that not everyone does. First I don't think you know me very well at all. Have we met? I think NOT !! The point is this whole thread is people "suggesting" what the line might could do away with. Some dislike the singing waiters. Well I LIKE the singing & dancing. I don't flame anyone who disagrees. Those who dislike it can put "stop singing" on comment card...see if I care. That's their right. When I put "no profane comics" on my comment card, people here tell me off. When I suggest "cover the buttocks" on a comment card, I'm told on CruiseCritc not to watch the shows. Yeah, I'm going to watch and enjoy the shows, also I'm still going to suggest modesty. Beyond that.....I think we can all agree to disagree and still have fun. manmtnmike Posted August 20, 2009 #293 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Here here, let's each of us enjoy our cruises and let others enjoy theirs. Am I missing something here? The OP had a valid discussion question and some how it gets turned around to make a diverting point of judgement. I guess if we don't like the post, then we don't have to read or respond to it, simple logic:rolleyes: Mike
LemurCat Posted August 20, 2009 #294 Share Posted August 20, 2009 First I don't think you know me very well at all. Have we met? I think NOT !! Well, considering I only know anything about you by what you post, perhaps you should re-evaluate what it is you're putting out there. ;) The point is this whole thread is people "suggesting" what the line might could do away with. Some dislike the singing waiters. Well I LIKE the singing & dancing. I don't flame anyone who disagrees. Those who dislike it can put "stop singing" on comment card...see if I care. That's their right. And I've agreed you have the right to like or dislike whatever you like. And you have the right to comment on it. I haven't flamed you. Do some people get ridiculous about their pet peeves and causes? Of course. But trust me, Thoth, I haven't even come close to flaming you. When I put "no profane comics" on my comment card, people here tell me off. When I suggest "cover the buttocks" on a comment card, I'm told on CruiseCritc not to watch the shows. Yeah, I'm going to watch and enjoy the shows, also I'm still going to suggest modesty. And that's your perogative, but as I've explained previously, their buttocks are not in fact bare. And no one has told you off. I have yet to see anyone question your parentage, religion, morals, right to breath air (though I have seen *you* doing quite a bit of that). Obviously you're not *that* offended as you're not leaving. Or, as I suggested, you're watching *to be* offended. Again, you're perogative, but call it for what it is. Kristi Williamson Posted August 20, 2009 #298 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Can you please let me know what line caters to couples in their 30s who aren't rich and would prefer to not have tons of kids everywhere. Regent, Seabourn, Windstar, and plenty more. If you're asking are there lines out there that would cater to you for 800 bucks a person? Then the answer is no. Why should they? Kids and families are where mass marketed lines revenue is at, and they know it. Kids and families are one of the reasons you and others can sail AT ALL for that cheap price. So, instead of griping about kids, you should be thanking the little buggers for making you capable of traveling to these awesome places in such wonderful surroundings for almost nothing, if you're too broke or too cheap to fork out 3000-10000 bucks a person for "quiet time". And yeah, I have four gorgeous, awesome, well-mannered kids that I pay out the wazoo to cruise so others can keep that cheap price. You're welcome! :D
golfadj Posted August 20, 2009 #299 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Only on cruise critic. People put out their suggestions of what they would rather not see and than get flamed for it. BTW we love kids but do not like a ship full of them so we do not go on weeks when likely to have lots of them. This also allows us to go on off peak times and get much better pricing. The problem is the ship is than full of elderly people who like to push their wheel chairs over my toes and cut in lines. Guess we will have to go back to using our yacht.
