scomar Posted August 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2009 Where is your favorite spot on the Eurodam for a sail away?
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2009 Besides Ft Lauderdale for Caribbean cruises -- there are some sail-away parties by the aft pool -- HAL-cats play -- sometimes chips and salsa -- drinks (not free). A lot of people go to them. We usually stay on our verandah.
Typhoon1 Posted August 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2009 Lido Aft Pool, a good place to meet and mingle.

SF Cfan Posted August 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Of course it depends on what's ahead, but 5 and 6 Forward are interesting spots on sail away. Also, as I mentioned in my list of to-do's on Eurodam, top deck 12 offers a great view on sail away or anytime for that matter. I see that none of these venues are shown on the on-line deck plans. But, they are there.
pris993 Posted August 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Does HAL promote a sailaway party on the pool deck?
RuthC Posted August 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Does HAL promote a sailaway party on the pool deck? Oh, yes. Drinks for sale, and Screecher and the HALCats playing as loud as they can. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the party is moved---usually to the Lido pool area.
sail7seas Posted August 23, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Will someone please 'deep six' all the screechers and all the HAL Cats? Surely they can find better than them?!@#$%^& The only level they know is excrutiatingly loud. That isn't music....... it's noise. I have to leave whatever venue they appear in. Their noise kills my ears. And they are equally awful on all the ships IMO
RuthC Posted August 23, 2009 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Will someone please 'deep six' all the screechers and all the HAL Cats? Surely they can find better than them?!@#$%^&The only level they know is excrutiatingly loud. That isn't music....... it's noise. I was totally shocked when I stopped to listen to the music at the Prinsendam sail-away. It was at a pleasant volume! It was good, lively music, played in such a way that you could recognize the song, and enjoy the technique of the musicians. What a pleasure! :) IMO, the musicians of whichever edition of the HALCats is playing, are usually good. It's the volume the speakers are set to that needs adjusting (and that should be easy enough to do). The singers, on the other hand....
coho ken Posted August 23, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Our Balcony:D! R&R starts with the sail away...that's what it is all about.
innlady1 Posted August 23, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Yes, there's a sailaway party at the aft pool area but we stay as far from that as we can...I can't taking the screeching either. Ruth's right - the music's not bad (just too loud), but the singers - Oh My!
helenp2 Posted August 23, 2009 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2009 We usually stay right on our own veranda. But......next week we are on b2b Eurodam out of NYC and we plan to sail past Lady Liberty in our family retreat. Yahoo!
mamaofami Posted August 23, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Sailing out of NYC on the Eurodam, we went forward on deck 5 and out on the bow. We had a perfect view of NYC down the harbor and that time there was a narrator explaining everything we passed. We were lucky enough to be treated to a water show in front of the statue because it was the first time the Eurodam sailed out of NY.
