Life Boat Drills

Recommended Posts

It's long been discussed how the passengers will have a new type of Life Boat drill but what about the crew? It is required that the crew go through the procedures for abandoning ship while in port. I'm not sure how often it is done but have seen it several times (every cruise so far but not always from our boat, sometimes from the others in port). They are also required to test the lifeboats during these drills (I think all of them must be tried over the course of a set period, possibly a six months or a year). With the Oasis always docking on the same side that means that only half the crew will get to practice and only half the life boats would get tested. The other side will always be docked above a pier. Unless they plan to do these other tests in the ocean while the boat stops on a sea day how can they get past the law.
