cruiseloverohio Posted August 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2009 I see that on the carnival website, you can purchase drink coupons in advance as a gift - then send it to their cabin, I guess. Does anyone know if these coupons can be used for ANY drinks? Even like Martini's? I don't want to purchase them, if you can only buy certain kinds of drinks. Carnival website doesn't specifically say ANY drink. THANKS
spring001 Posted August 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2009 We cruised Aug 3rd and my friend received several drink coupons as a gift. I believe they said any drink up to $5.50. Hope this helps. Christina
cuyahoga11 Posted August 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2009 If your drink is more than coupon worth, you may be asked for your card to charge the extra, but if it is less, no refund. Not worth it to me to save a couple bucks
etwright Posted August 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2009 We purchased an anniversary package that came with some drink coupons and I remember there being a limit to the price of the drink. I'm can't remember how much the limit was, but $5.50 sounds about right. Charge the difference.
cjar855 Posted August 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2009 I buy them for every cruise I take. I usually buy 2 strips ( 4 Coupons per strip) This way I already have 8 drinks paid for up front. It's that much less I have to see on my Sign & Sail Bill at the end.:D I think they are a great Gift to send to a friend for their cruise.
Wants to be rich Posted August 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2009 I've used the drink coupons for a glass of wine, beer and the Drink of the Day (small version, no souvenier cup) and have never been asked for my sail and sign card. Maybe those come in under the 5.50 limit. I do leave a cash tip when using them.
crusinpsychRN Posted August 30, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Most drinks cost more than the coupon so you'll sign for the difference. Tip in included. If you don't mind carrying the coupons around with you you'll save a little.
bygjon Posted September 1, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2009 They're a great idea. Especially as a gift. For my last cruise aboard the Pride, friends sent a LOT of coupons to my room. I never had to use my Sail and Sign card in addition to a coupon. I enjoyed rum n Cokes, 7&7s and Long Islands. It was great.
Nunu Posted September 1, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2009 We ordered them and they were given to us at dinner in the dining room on the first night.
clerky96 Posted September 1, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Just checked on the website and they are for a drink up to $5.25. What I am confused about is that they say the value is $21.25. Four coupons X $5.25 is $21.00. Why would anyone want to pay more than they are worth? No bargain there. I looked at them because I thought it might be a good way to pre-pay for a few drinks, but with them costing more than the cash value...no way! rednose83 Posted September 1, 2009 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2009 They say 5.95 limit. We got a sheet for our last cruise as a gift and never had to sign for anything even the 8.95 long island ice teas.
hill6 Posted September 1, 2009 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2009 dh would get premium drinks and they would just charge him difference from regular drink price. About $2. OP: They are delivered to you the first night in the dining room they are not in the cabin.
