  1. You'll be fine. I also worked in the woods and spent a lot of time in, lets say, less than 5 star accommodations, I think we hear, see and enjoy things the flat landers just can't imagine. The land tours are what you make it out to be. When we stayed at the lodges they even had sheets on the beds. Who could ask for anything more.
  2. We did an 11 day Cruisetour in mid May 2015. It was a north bound trip with 2 nights at Denali and 1 night at Mckinley Lodge. It also included 1 night at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage at the end. We then rented a car and drove to Homer. This has to be one of our best trips. But I must admit it was the weather that made it so good. The weather was cool but for the most part clear. We had a clear view of Denali while at the McKinley Lodge. The road into Denali was only open part way, but we still saw lots of wildlife including Grizzlies. We booked a river rafting while at McKinley but it was raining ((hard) when we went to the bus. Nearly everyone else cancelled so my wife and I plus one other were the only ones on the trip. By the time we got to the raft the skies had cleared. We recommend to all our friends to do a land tour. Of course bad weather would have completely changed our impression of the trip.
  3. Pre Covid I found EZair prices hard to beat. Post Covid not so much. I favor EZair outbound to port because it is covered by Princess Get You To The Ship insurance. Return home is not so critical. So price and convenience rule. For some reason my EZair bookings seem to consistently have very short layover times. Been burned with that so I avoid short layovers. I also seem to get more flight changes when booked through EZair. Probably just coincidence. Short story: ship late docking in Southampton, so we missed flight from LHR to SFO. EZair re-booked us on new flight, great. Not so fast. Our 15 hour flight turned into a 36 hour flight from London to Istanbul to SFO. I declined and made my own arrangements, which Princess paid for. This was immediately after covid shutdown, so giving Princess some slack. In addition, with EZair bookings check your flights and seat assignments frequently.
  4. Not to minimize the above mentioned suggestions, your best protection is your own immune system. Before your cruise there are a few steps you can take to insure your immune system is running at peak efficiency. The FLCCC (google it) has a list of protocols that can be utilized. As they say this is not medical advise, consult your health care provider. I'm not a Doctor but I did stay at a Motel 6 last night.
  5. Any suggestions for party of 6 transfer from LAX hotel to San Pedro on the morning of embarkation. Looking for options other than Princess transfer from LAX.

  7. No big deal. It's the world we live in today. However, that being said, it's a little itchy as an American cruising to Le Harve and needing a permit to visit Normandy. Just saying.
  8. Booked through EZAir a flight from LHR to SEA in mid June on AA. On the AA web site it shows that the flight has been ticketed, but I can not find an eTicket number. Have the tickets been paid for by EZAir yet? We lost our seats a year ago because EZAir had not paid for the tickets and the resevation was cancelled. EZAir rebooked us from London to Istanbul to SFO. We took a pass on that offer.
  9. I posted a while back about a serious issue we were having with the Medallion App. I got a very quick response from a Princess contractor that eventually solved (so far) the problem. I was very happy with the attention Princess gave to the problem. It apparently required some trouble shooting and tweek to the program to repair. Initially we still had the problem on my wife's iPhone. The contractor asked us to perform the following on her iPhone and iPad. "... log out of app on any device you are using, reboot your device and log back in to the app, this should remove any phantom cache, which could be the culprit. Should it continue the next step would be go to settings and for Android [optimize device] go through the steps to do so. For Apple go to general, then iPhone storage, then app and off load app, then reinstate app. The next step would be to delete the app entirely and reinstall fresh from the app store." To solve the problem we needed to go to the second step. The key was to 'off load' (an option that appears) the app. After following these steps the app worked just fine. My computer experience is limited to hand crank Monroe calculators (for the less mature Google it). But I assume there is a cache associated with the app that needs to be deleted and 'off loading' the app accomplishes this.
  10. Very interesting, but I think they screwed it up again. When my wife signs on to the Medallion App a totally different persons information appears. It also included passport information. I contacted Princess and was told that Princess takes the protection of personal information seriously and that my wife should simply sign in using her booking number rather than her ID and Password. Ok, now my wife's information is shown. But wait, what about our access to the other persons info, "Princess takes the protection of personal information very seriously". Well that certainly solves the problem. No fix yet, but I have sent a detailed email to Princess so I'm waiting for a reply. Anybody else had that issue?
  11. Have used EZair a number of times. Always worked out well until the last time. We were on a June cruise on the Sky. We had EZair tickets from Heathrow to Reno with Premium Economy seats. Two days before disembarkation I check our flights and saw that that we had no seats listed. I check the airline web site and found that there were only 2 Economy seats left (not together) for the flight. I grabbed those seats and called EZair. (Ship Customer Service let me use the desk phone). EZair says, I see you have 2 seats. Ya, because I grabbed them. EZair was no help. Now the exciting part happens. About 10PM the night before disembarkation the Captain announces that we will be docking late in Southampton and if your flight is before 5PM (ours was) you will need to change your flight plans. (Late docking big screw-up on Captains part. A story for another day.) Captain announces that if you booked through EZair they will be rearranging your flight (awesome). If you made your own arrangements, you are on your own (literally). I wake up in the morning and our new flight arrangements are slipped under the door (awesome). As I cast my eyes upon the paper I see that I'm on my way to Istanbul. Yes, the one in Turkey. Gatwick to Istanbul to SFO to Reno; 33 hours. Fortunately my son is an airline pilot and he got us non-revenue seats on a flight the next day out of LHR. Princess has told us they will reimburse us for our added expenses (still waiting). Will I use EZair again, yes, but I will use it wisely.
