Sunshine-lady Posted February 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2010 We are getting ready to book Carnival Liberty. We are thinking of booking an ocean suite. We have stayed in balconies before. Can someone tell me about the ocean suites? Are they better then balconies? What are the differences?
near the beach Posted February 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2010 We had a suite on the Liberty. A lot of room. We had empty drawers and closet space. We didn’t need a power strip. There was a plug in the dressing area and one out in the main room. It is going to be difficult to go back to a balcony. The priority boarding was a plus. x-cruiser Posted February 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2010 We had an ocean suite on the Triumph in January. It was great. Whirlpool bathtub, loads of closet and drawer space and a big room. It will be a let down to go back to a balcony on the next cruise. The priority boarding and debarkation was also very nice....
Sunshine-lady Posted February 11, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks for the replys. So, you get priority boarding and debarkation. Any other perks? We are booking this cruise tomorrow for next May. I'm already excited. This will be our first ocean suite room. Hopefully we like it just as much as we do a balcony. Rockportgirl Posted February 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2010 How many people are cruising? 2 or 3, I don't think I'd spend the money for a suite, even if I had it.
near the beach Posted February 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2010 On the Liberty we had priority boarding but not debarkation. Ask your Carnival cruise planner what the perks are on your chosen ship. If you chose a balcony. On the last day of your cruise when every one is out of their cabins, walk around and ask the cabin stewarts if you can go in and look at the suites or any other type of cabin. It is a good way to spend some time waiting to get off the ship. We were allowed to see them.
sunseeker09 Posted February 11, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2010 VIP embarkation and debarkation (if you want/need that). Early embarkation is nice to be first on the ship and beat the crowds. spacious bathroom off dressing room not off hallway deep whirlpool tub with lots of space to shower and sliding glass doors multi-bar towel rack in tub good for hanging wet/dripping clothes extend a line clothes line also good for clothes drying dressing area with extra counter space, mirror and an extra outlet and about 4 or 5 drawers 2 closets as well as 4 big dresser drawers and a few small ones in the dressing area space to move around the room even with a sofa and a chair mini-bar fridge (which apparently you can have items removed and use it for your own drinks) and lots of shelf space around the the safe. wider balcony with 3 chairs - great if you have more than 2 people (could put a 4th chair out there) Can you tell we loved our suite? lol. Sure, we weren't in it a lot, and it would've been even nicer if we had sea days, but when we were in it, it was so nice to have everything tidy and put away and not be tripping over stuff or each other, ya know? x-cruiser Posted February 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2010 X-Cruiser: is that whirlpool tub for one or two? That would depend on your size....For us, it was for one. 10 years ago it would have been 2. Actually it is a smaller tub, but a whirlpool tub the same.
