September 3rd Breakaway to Bermuda - quick review

Breakaway to Bermuda -

Me, my oldest daughter (25) and her friend - we all shared balcony cabin 12876.

We left New York on September 3rd on time and smooth seas, the calmest seas I have ever cruised leaving New York.

Had a good Meet and Greet group and enjoyed the slot pull.

I had a fantastic cruise, nothing can change that. For one week I did not go to work, I did not have to shop for or make dinner and no dishes and I loved doing exactly what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it.

Bermuda was as beautiful as ever and we enjoyed our time exploring and swimming in the crystal clear water on the North side of the island.

The not so great part of the cruise was our cabin steward -

Our cabin was not in the best of shape, empty wine bottle in closet, french fry and lots of rice on floor, the bedding under the couch was never swapped for clean and had some really gross stains. I called the first evening to have it resolved but a recording kept saying my steward was unavailable. Eventually a call went through but not to my steward, somebody showed up and took the bottle, that night I was given clean sheets and the floor was vacuumed a few days later.

There were no pool towels in our room so we got three from the pool deck, I was led to believe this how it will be unlike in March when on the Getaway our towels were in our cabin. Throughout the cruise our steward would take our pool towels but would not replace them. I called to get them back one evening before our morning excursion but could not get a hold of him by phone, I called Carmacita Reid, head of Housekeeping (Meet & Greet) to explain we needed our towels back, she told me our steward must have been out of towels and we could get more in the morning from the pool area, I tried to explain that then I would be on the hook for 6 towels but that was the answer we got. Later after the phone call, a lady (not Carmacita Reid) showed up and gave us 3 pool towels. Throughout the cruise we would also lose bath towels and wash clothes and they were never replaced, eventually just went to the hall to get what we needed from the cart.

I met my steward for the first time on the last night of the cruise, he dropped off the alcohol my daughter had bought, he apologized for the initial condition of the cabin, I told him his apology was six days to late and shut the door.

My cabin steward sucked at his job but the staff at the restaurants, the bars and in the spa had great attitudes and were good at their jobs.

I had a great time in the casino, staff was nice, fellow gamblers are always fun to chat with, overall I give the Breakaway Casino a big thumbs up for my favorite kind of entertainment.

My daughter and I are already planning our next cruise to Bermuda with NCL, next time on the Escape and we will bring along my better half and my other kids.

We did not go to shows or to any pay restaurants except for Wasabi and Ocean Blue.

If you have any questions let me know.

---.

Thanks for the review.. we had the exact same incidents with our cabin steward last year - September sailing to Bermuda too.. I will check, but I think our rooms were 12856 and 12860 - maybe we had the same cabin steward? He was super bad - no clean towels, talking back to us, never put the Pullman bed back in the ceiling for 5 days till I went and complained to the front desk! Other than that, just like you - all other staff was excellent. Glad you had a good cruise!
