Antigua - best beaches

Yes, yes, I know...they have 365 of them! I went to a great public beach next to Sandals several years ago (can't remember the name), and not too far from the pier. Great sand and water, and restaurant/bar, and facilities. Can anyone tell me what might be the best beach to go to for a day...not far from the pier at St. Johns? We just want a day at the beach. Last time, we were on Celebrity. This time, RCI. Thanks!

P.S. I sailed out of Antigua near Nelson't Dockyard on a tall ship quite a few times in the 90's, so we're not interested in that area. Just a nice beach with facilities near the pier at St. Johns.

the beach you are asking about is Dickenson Bay. It's one of our favorites. Was very busy on our last trip.
