Sail away party from Majorca

Recommended Posts

We haven't sailed from Majorca for a few years now, but we really enjoyed the Sailaway party and going past Palma Cathedral, which was all lit up, round about midnight. We're on the Discovery in August. Can anyone say if Thomson still follow this pattern? Thanks:)

We sailed from Palma last summer on the Dream which left around midnight, and got a fantastic view of the lit up cathedral. We are sailing from Palma again this June on the Discovery and as it's a 2 week back to back cruise, looking forward to experiencing it twice again!

Hi GlenLivet,

We are also on the Discovery on 18th June, only cruising for one week though, we have a week in Cala D'Or afterwards.

Are you planning any excursions and would you be happy to share? We shared some excursions on our last cruise with some lovely people from Scotland, we class you as honorary Geordies. Normally arrange the excursions locally, much cheaper than the ship's excursions.

We've been on the ship before when it was the Splendour; it's a beautiful ship.

Hi Jim

Thanks for the kind offer but it's our 30th anniversary trip, and we have our itinerary pretty much planned out during the first week when our anniversary falls. Do you have any excursions in mind yourself yet? I met a lot of Geordies during my time in the Army many years ago, and always found them very good company! Good to hear you were impressed with the ship during it's time as the Splendour. This is our first time on a two week cruise as we have previously done a cruise and stay, which we have always found very enjoyable.

We stayed in Cala Millor last year and had a great time. Although we had been to Majorca many times before, last year was the first time we had ever went on the Soller train trip and western mountains excursion. Didn't realise what we were missing as it was absolutely brilliant.

Hi Glen,

Congratulations on your anniversary. Strangely enough we celebrated our 40th anniversary and renewed our vows on The Celebration in 2014. We actually arranged an excursion with a Scottish couple online, got on really well and they joined us when we had our anniversary dinner. So you can see why I was happy to share an excursion with a couple from Scotland.

We've done the Med a few times so we're probably looking forward to visiting Pompeii and Portofino. Haven't been to Sicily but have done Pisa, Florence & Palamos.

Really looking forward to going back to Villefranche; we love that area and would probably retire there if we could afford it; maybe even buy a house next to Bono?

Maybe see you on the ship?

Jim
