Sicily (Palermo), Italy

We were there last month on the Emerald Princess. We had some onboard credit to use up so took the ship's excursion to Cefalu. It was billed as a walking tour but actually was Cefalu on our own. The guide walked us from the bus (had to park in a lot outside town) and showed us the cathedral in the main piazza, then turned us loose. We had a great day there. It's an historic town and absolutely beautiful resort with a very nice beach. If you can find a driver both ways, (about an hour away from Palermo) you could go privately, but honestly, the ship's excursion was a bargain for the great day we had there.

PS. The specialty gelato is served in a brioche. And the local beer is not bad either.

Can anyone suggest a good private tour guide for Sicily (Palermo), Italy. We are there from 7 am to 2 pm. Or is there something else to suggest since we are only there for a limited time.

I used aroundsicily.com and was very happy with them. They are flexible and will arrange the tour to suit your needs and time frame.
