bionicbeacher Posted April 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2017 We will be in the Port of Saguenay on a Friday in early October.......rather then go on a pre arranged tour we would like any info on what we could do on our own (8 people) immediately off the ship. Considering our passenger manifest is about 3000 + Crew......and we have to embark at 1:30 for sail away.....are there private people there willing to take us to a few sites......is there a Hop On / Hop Off Bus available.....is it a walking browsing area? Any information would be greatly appreciated.:) Ken
AntjeG Posted April 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2017 My port stop there will be next year so I have no experience at this port. But I found a nice tour which might be good: https://www.fjordenligne.com/new-page/english/saguenay-guided-tours/ And there is also a HoHo Bus: http://tourisme.saguenay.ca/en/circuits-and-guided-tours/tourist-bus
marypatrick Posted May 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2017 We were disappointed the the offerings in Saguenay when we were on a cruise a couple of years ago we tried the HOHO, but the course the bus took had few interesting stops and the driver offered no thoughts (the paper mill has a tour, there was almost empty downtown). You might look into a private guide (with 8 of you the cost will be somewhat affordable). There was a "Spectacle history of Saguenay" performance (ship excursion) that some passengers went to - a lot of them found it a little hokey but others enjoyed it. We wound up walking through the town at the port We came upon a market/craft area at a church which we enjoyed.
