ok, I am very new at cruising, never done DCL. if you book a suite, do you pay extra for specialty dining or is it included...

Is there a soda package on DCL?

How is the other entertainment on DCL, the non-disney entertainment? comedians etc.

You are very new. There is no soda package on DCL. Fountain serve sodas are complimentary in the dining rooms as well as at the 24/7 self serve beverage station. If you want it in a can, you pay for it.

Specialty dining (which on DCL is "adult only" dining) is not free for suite guests. However, depending on which level of suite, some people can have Palo food served in their suite. In that case, any children will also be served.

The non-Disney entertainment before 9 pm is totally family friendly. We've seen some of the same entertainers that DCL uses on some other cruise lines as well (Celebrity) and are comparable to the other entertainers on that line. They are better than the people we've seen on Princess. But then, different people like different things.

We always go with a concierge suite on Dream or Fantasy. Did it once on Magic and never again. Unless they have recently changed the rules, on the Dream and Fantasy the only suites that can have Palo brought in is the Roy or Walt Disney suites. Those are the giant ones at the front of deck 12. Very $$$$

Magic had concierge lounge added--don't know when you were on board. Wonder will have it added at the upcoming dry dock. I think the suites on the Magic and Wonder are nicer (even with the piano removed....long story), but the lounge/sundeck situation is much better on the newer ships.

Thanks we have been only only 2 cruises in the past 10 years, and only 3day ones... We have never done Disney, I always thought they were 2 expensive, but some of the other cruise lines seem to nickle and dime you to death... Carnival doesn't seem to have any suite benefits, and you have to pay extra to get on board faster and for the soda package... Just trying to figure out all the differences, Thankyou for your help!

There is really no comparison between Carnival and DCL. You are basically talking one line that is at the entry level and another that is just below the luxury level. The closest line to DCL is probably Royal Caribbean.

Figure out the value of all the perks that you don't pay extra for on DCL and it will still be a lot more costly than other family oriented lines. Pixie dust isn't cheap!

If you book a suite you don't have to pay for any can of soda. fwiw.

Unless you want to. - At a Bar.

On vessels with a Concierge Lounge you can pilfer any sodas of many varieties in a can and bottle from the Lounge. Including water bottles.

This is encouraged. They are included.

Grab what you want and place in your fridge.

You will not lack beverage variety from the CL.

If they don't have what you want, Ask, and they will deliver.

CL hours 7am - 10 pm. Those are the hours you can pilfer. ;)

Enjoy

Unless you booked a suite on a vessel with a CL Lounge like OP implied.

Which has many cans of varied soda available, and other libations, available in the CL during operational hours of 7am -10 pm.

Totally correct that suite guests can get cans from the concierge lounge. My reply was in response to the question about a "soda plan" on DCL. You can get anything you want from the concierge lounge during normal hours.
