tomandmarcia Posted January 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2007 On Holland America ships we received a $100 credit by showing the line that we owned 100 shares of Carnival stock. Does anybody know if Princess does the same thing?
Toto2Kansas Posted January 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2007 My understanding is that YES, you would be entitled to the same credit on Princess. Only thing is, my understanding is that you can not combine it with any other shipboard credit and many times you can find more credit through a TA so it would not benefit you to use it. If your TA is not offering any credit and you are not using a future booking, then that would be the time to jump on the stock credit option. Nancyquilts Posted January 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Toto is right - we have Carnival stock in my husband's name, so I get the $100 onboard booking credit, and he takes the $250 for an over-14-day cruise. For a shorter cruise, it wouldn't be any advantage over the regular OBB credit. Nancy
tomandmarcia Posted January 14, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2007 I have not heard of the over 14 day cruise credit. We are going on a 16 day cruise on Princess. How does it work? Thanks.
dclark Posted January 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2007 It is applied to the person's account and not the cabin. My family went on a cruise last month. Mother and daughter were in one cabin Father and other daughter in the other. Father has 100+ CCL shares in his account, Mother has 100 shares of CCL in her account. Our booking came with $25 obc per person. So, here is how it worked out: Mother got $75 Share holder credit, $25 obc Father got $75 Share holder credit, $25 obc In the end, we still got $100 each, but the obc reduced the shareholder benefit. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of our children still got $25 each. All of this was bundled up in my account for a total of $250 obc. Not bad for a X-Mas cruise, eh?
Nancyquilts Posted January 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2007 tomandmarcia - You need to call Princess and ask for the right person's extension - I think her name is Liza. I got it off these boards after a search, but the boards don't seem to want to play nicely right now. You might search something like "Carnival stock benefits" and push the Princess button. You just need to send her a fax (or snail mail) of your latest stock statement.

Nancyquilts Posted January 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Thanks for the link. Let's hope they remember to renew it, as they do each year (so far).
