Abu Dhabi port and shuttle question

How far is the Terminal (or port gates) from the pier? Is there a shuttle that takes the passengers from the port to a drop off location in Abu Dhabi or at least to the gates of the port? Are taxi allowed to get to the port?

Planning for Singapore to Abu Dhabi cruise April 2017.

Hope to visit Dubai for 3-4 days before cruise and then a port day before the disembarkation in Abu Dhabi. My questions: How many days for Abu Dhabi? Hotels to recommend? Sights to see?

We will transfer to Dubai for flight home. Suggestions on how to do that.

You would have to negotiate with the driver re your luggage but the Abu Dhabi and Dubai hop on hop off bus has a crossover agreement where you can travel between the two cities. It's only an hour or so. For example a three day pass would allow you to enjoy Abu Dhabi then travel to Dubai and spend a day hopping on and off there as well.
