SouthHillSteve Posted August 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2016 It's been over 4 years since our last cruise, but last month I booked a 14 day cruise next July to celebrate our 25th anniversary! So of course I returned to Cruise Critic and have been checking out these HAL message boards every now and then. Kind of surprised that the smoking issue hasn't been solved yet! Just kidding! As I was walking this morning on the walking track of our city's field-house a question occurred to me that I know one of you good folks will have the answer to: How many laps around the promenade deck does it take to equal 1 mile? Thanks in advance! steve
lokidude Posted August 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2016 As near as I can recall, I think 4 laps is a mile.
OlsSalt Posted August 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2016 As near as I can recall, I think 4 laps is a mile. That is my recollection about the smaller HAL ships - 4 laps per mile. Vista ships like the Zuiderdam etc, it is three laps per mile. So just going to and fro from cabin to venues at front and back of the ship several times a day can clock up some serious foot work. I swear I am going to take my pedometer and check this out one of these upcoming cruises. And even more, how much do we walk just getting from plane to plane in the airports ... that can be staggering in some airports, particularly on short connections.
