I thought the Sunshine's Serenity Pool was fresh water. Right or wrong?
It was fresh water when we were on it in Nov. '13.

Another vote for the food in general being overrated. The deli and pizza aren't bad, but everything else is blah.

\Took the tour on the Magic last year. I thought it was great and very interesting. If my memory serves me correctly, I think the cost is $95 on Dream class ships, and it varies by class. The most interesting parts of tour for me were the main galley, the food/drink storage areas/coolers along I-95, and of the course the engine control room and bridge. We are planning a cruise with my parents on the Dream next year and I definitely plan on treating my dad to the tour.

I have been on both and wouldn't hesitate to sail either again. I like the better specialty restaurants on the Sunshine, but the Magic gets the edge because it has more places to get away from the crowds for quiet relaxation, which is very important to me.

I agree, I don't understand what would take them so long to introduce it on more ships. I posted that question to John Heald on FB and never got an answer.

Have cruised the Elation, Sunshine, and most recently, then Magic. New ships are nice, but the main thing I don't like about the Dream class is the extended promenade deck. I like to sit on my balcony and look down at the water, and I prefer being on a higher deck vs a lower one for a cove balcony. We are sailing the Freedom in September and really looking forward to it. Age of the ship doesn't matter to me, as long as it has some of the upgrades. Going on the Dream next year, but only because my parents are booked.

My wife's brother and his g/f joined a group of us on a cruise last year and they complained the whole time. My brother-in-law can't find his way out of a wet paper bag and complained when they couldn't learn their way around the ship, so they would never be able to find us when we would all meet up for something. Not only that, but they would drink so much during the day that they would fall asleep in their cabin early in the evening and miss dinner and all the evenings activities. Once they would wake up the only thing open for food was pizza and the deli, and of course they would complain about that. All legitimate complaints:rolleyes:
I was totally against the idea of cruising and kept avoiding them until I ran out of excuses with my wife. My biggest dislike about cruising is the short time at ports. But it is what is, and I accept that. My wife and I just spent a week in Florida recently which was out first non-cruise vacation in a few years. If I had a dollar for each time one of us commented about having to pick up behind ourselves or cook/clean dishes, I'd be able to pay for another cruise, lol. That's what I love about cruising, everything is taken care of, everything.

Roatan gets my vote. I've snorkled in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Roatan and Roatan was by far the best. We snorkled off of West Bay Beach and it was unbelievable.

Whatever their reason, I'm all for it. As similar as the Breeze and Magic are, a different ship is a different ship. I love trying out different ships and all this repositioning has so far allowed me to avoid sailing any ship twice. I think Carnival recognizes the fact that people will be more likely to book the Breeze since it's something different. I know I will definitely be booking the Liberty and Breeze once they arrive. My only regret is not being able to sail the Conquest before she left NOLA.

I have to admit I am glad to see the Elation go. Not a fan of the Fantasy class ships at all.

I'm right at 6'3" and 300 pounds and they didn't look at me twice on the Magic last year when I went on the ropes course. I forget what the weight limit was, but I know I was well over it. Definitely try it out, it was a lot of fun.
-
Seth Gibson is awesome! Very entertaining.
-
I saw kids in the EA sports bar on the Sunshine back in November.

Tried out the ropes course last week. I thought it was pretty fun. Didn't get to try it in November on the Sunshine and now I really regret it. My godchild won medal for the fastest time going through the course with no hands the entire way. He even did the whole thing walking backwards a couple of times. Of course, he is 11.
-
We cruised the same dates on the Magic and I was honestly expecting there to be more kids on board than there were. I did notice a gang of teenage girls throughout the week who were super loud and obnoxious where ever they went, but other than that it was still better than mid summer.

We had a guy named Zethro last Wednesday. We all thought he was great and if we ever go back we will definitely ask for him.

Harley stuff is a little expensive everywhere. :(

No doubt, HD stands for a Hundred Dollars:)

I was on the inaugural out of New Orleans in November and I did notice a very strong sewage smell just outside the Liquid Lounge on deck 4 a couple of different times. Only other issue I noticed on the entire ship was the bad layout and size of the comedy club. With that said, I wish the ship was staying in New Orleans instead of the the Dream.

Never ate there for supper, but I thought the lunch offerings were very good. Ate lunch there multiple times.
-
The pools on the Sunshine are freshwater, although I never noticed is they were ever drained on our cruise.
-
Be sure to try the coconut ice cream for dessert, it was awesome! Can't wait to go back in a month.
-
On the Elation last May we had ice daily without asking. On the Sunshine in November we had to ask for it and our steward kept it filled for the rest of the cruise. Maybe it varies by steward.
-
All you have to do is ask your steward for an ice bucket and they will provide you with one and keep it filled. I guess most people never used them so they stopped leaving them in all the rooms.
-
Steak and eggs were awesome. The basket of bread/pastries they bring out is great too.

Anyone know what time Jaime's closes in the afternoon/evening? We are in port from 1-8 p.m. Want to make sure it is worth it to go there with the time we have.
