If the EU does decide to make Americans get visas or apply for some kind of ESTA-style visa waiver' date=' I'm sure it will be announced many weeks/months in advance.[/quote]
That makes sense.

Thanks everyone, I will pay closer attention to this issue to see if it ever gets to a vote.

I just heard on the news that the EU parliament has voted to suspend their Visa Free program for tourists from the U.S. as retaliation for our recent travel restrictions on visitors from certain countries. I have not been able to ascertain when this begins, but if it is immediately or very soon, that would definitely affect anyone flying into Europe. Does anyone have more information on this issue?

The Pearl or Jewel. Love them both. Can't beat the jewel class ships for that sense of sailing. Larger ships have a disconnect between me and the sea.

Can't wait to hear the details

I'll be very surprised if our November 13 Jade cruise makes it there because of all the delays and date push backs there have been on this project. Just hope they let us know in plenty of time to book a local tour out of Belize City. If we do manage to make it to HC, we will be the first passengers to go so we won't know what to expect. Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

I think NCL should do away with the AARP discount and go with a Senior discount. Not everyone wants to join AARP.
Agree!

Enjoyed your observations. Thanks for posting.

Nope, FDR blows
They BOTH blow.

As you can see from my signature, I have sailed with NCL for many years. There has most definitely been a downward slide. Up until a couple of years ago, there were always two room stewards assigned to each cabin. Now, only one, AND the number of staterooms to clean has been increased. Obviously very stressful for the overworked stewards. That has translated into less time spent in each cabin with subsequent decline in cleanliness. But I don't blame the stewards, they do their best under bad circumstances and still manage to learn our names and try hard to please us.
We have seen a decline in speciality restaurants with the ala carte pricing. We have seen many of its benefits reduced or eliminated. We have seen the elimination of previous standard cruise benefits also eliminated. We have seen the ability of cruise personnel (example: casino manager) to make reward decisions eliminated and replaced with mathematical standards that completely take personal service out of their hands.
I will not go into all the negative changes made by the current CEO because they are already well documented on these boards.
Final statement: even though my signature shows an upcoming cruise, I have recently canceled. I love cruising, but sadly, I need some time off. The goodies of UBP, etc. do not tempt me with their increased cruise fares and decreased benefits. I completely understand and respect the newer cruisers who love cruising. But then again, they haven't been around long enough to miss what we used to have.

Yay, and now it begins...

Can we get an ETA on the review? Know you're super busy so if we have an idea of when to expect it, we won't keep bugging you :)

An unplanned surprise cruise. This should be interesting. :D

I don't understand the anger and outrage many feel when someone writes something as an adult that is their opinion that others may not agree with. Some take it so personal if someone says, I think I like another cruise line better than NCL or I don't like all the changes NCL is doing.
The mockery of the response by some is childish and something my 4th grader would do. Sometimes I see YOU WONT BE MISSED or even personal attacks
If threads like this bother you then why are they opened by the same people over and over. Cant we discuss cruising like adults? I did not see anything dramatic , negative or wrong the OP discussed. Its their opinion and their right to do so. I think some need better ways to occupy their time than sit by a computer all day hoping someone will complain about NCL.
Well said. It's amazing how the negative people just love to jump on these posts without contributing a single worthwhile fact. And, they really ought to learn the difference between their and there. It might lend them a tad more credibility.

For some reason, I'm think of Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces. You might have to order a vodka and club soda, skip the vodka.
Hahaha, good one!

Wow, Kim must buried in school, work, and family to be AWOL this long. Hope she's doing ok.

Did a BTB on the Jade last month as CAS guests and getting tipping ones was a hassle in the casino. They would not give out more than $5 in ones at a time. I suggest you bring adequate amount and not depend on casino for change. They are very unhelpful.

Just got off the Jade on a back to back cruise and I think it has one of the best NCL buffet set ups. Eggs Bennie, cooked to order omelettes, cooked to order eggs, waffles, French toast, pancakes, ham, bacon, sausage, beans, potatoes, lots of bread options. Lunch is also really varied. And even if you eat in another dining room for dinner, be sure to drop by in the evening for freshly made crepes with all the fixins.

Mykonos departure now 4pm on my summary page.
Just checked again. Yup, lost ANOTHER hour. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up. Our time was changed too and we have a private 6-hour sea kayaking, snorkeling, and beach tour booked (and paid for) which will now need to be shortened AGAIN.

I just logged on ok.
Me too. No. Problems.

I forgot about that. Thanks, I'll get it downloaded before my trip.
