  1. No, what I am saying is that the laws of Panama apply to a Panamanian flag ship. So whatever the liquor laws or liquor liability of bar owners are in Panama, that is what applies. This is one of many reasons that ships are flagged in "countries of convenience".

LOL - This is not in any way accurate.

  2. IMHO, How sad that a person would be furious about missing a port when someone lost their lives. Just makes me think how uncaring the human race can be.

JUST to play Devil's Advocate NOT my own feelings:

We are talking about a person who didn't value their own life or their own family's feelings and chose to affect the vacation of the thousands of other people on board.

  3. The VAT never has been 37%. Where did that come from? the VAT is about 20% and is refundable.

One of the Vista groups - I have no idea. Main concern in bar purchases - Not refundable as it's a consumable. But someone ^^ up there ^^ said 10% for bar?

    Just trying to budget...

  4. I see statements like the OP's all the time in various industries. They *want* the company to do something, they claim it's what the company *should* do. I tell them all the same thing: If you think you can do it better, start your own competing company and do it your way. Write a book about it when your done; I'd love to read it. Especially Chapter 11. :)

  5. How many beers can we carry on? We dont drinks soda pops.

    0 :) Sorry.

"A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person.

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception:

At the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage."

  6. To me it's the bun that really makes the burger at Guy's. They do some kind of garlic butter on it and grill it. Sometimes late in the day they either run out of prepped buns or something and you get a crappy bun - really turns it from something special to just an OK burger. The fries are amazing as well. LOL - my mouth is watering as I type this. Need to book another Guy's ship!

  7. My husband loves all the freebie stuff that used to come in the bathroom basket and was really bummed when they took it away. So now I secretly pack a bunch of travel-sized items from Target (deodorant, lip balm, mouthwash) and sneak into the bathroom as soon as we get to the room to place it. Each cruise I add more stuff.. even his favorite gum and candies. He gets so excited when he sees the stuff and still has no idea it's me. :D:D:D

  8. If requested, your steward will get you a bucket and fill the ice morning and evening. Never thought of asking for a larger pail, but it's worth a try. If not, get a beer bucket. If you need ice when the steward is off, just hit the lido deck and fill it yourself. I fill a water cup with ice and then dump it in the bucket, just for sanitary purposes.

  9. I'd be careful. The cruise gods are quite fickle and a post like this is just what it takes for them to turn on you. Everyone has a bad a cruise once in a while: it's a numbers game. Is your number finally up? You never know! So you may want to bring a few good luck charms, look out for broken mirrors and black cats, and maybe even sacrifice a goat or two (or is it a chicken?).

  10. It's the law of the playground (sometimes law of the jungle). He (or she) who wants it most and is willing to defend their territory will get it. Yes it can get ugly, but that's life. We saw a great "seat save showdown" in the comedy club once. It was so bad the comedian actually called out the woman trying to save the seats. She was "boo"ed by the whole club. It was epic.

  11. last year, i was a huge Dr Pepper drinker (like 3 a day) and i didnt know Carnival was a Coke products only. they tried to give me a Mr Pibb. um NOOOO! i went that whole week without a DP!

but i think they should carry them all, too. this year, it didnt matter because i gave up sodas (been soda free 5 months now!) but still

Cool story. Can you tell again from the beginning? :)
