  1. Yes thank you very much your feedback is greatly appreciated, xx:)

Hi there, I would have to agree with Keith W, I think the Epic has something for everyone. The entertainment is second to none and the whole Freestyle approach really appeals to us. You eat when you want and where you want and with whom you want......you can always let your host or hostess know if you would be willing to share a table with others.

I can only comment on our own experience, but Love My Butler suggested that you wait a long time for an elevator......we never waited more than a few moments in peak times....usually when the shows in the theatre had just finished.

Our cruise was a 7 day cruise and had a real mix of ages and nationalities, not sure if a 3 day cruise would be different, but I would hazard a guess and say that leaving from Barcelona would attract more European guests for a short break. Just my thoughts, hope they help. :)

  2. Thank you for your reply, its appreciated, can i ask how long do you cruise on the epic, (how many nights) and what type cabin do you prefer? thanking you x

Epic was my first ever Cruise in 2012, soon to my second in 2 weeks time, its a great ship that will suit all ages, something for everyone and Freestyle is the best thing about it :)

One thing to note is the cabin set up the bathroom and toilet are in the room toilet one side and shower the other side as you enter and not in a separate room like other ships

  3. Thank u for your reply, this is exactly what i was afraid to hear, and was thinking, as its such a short cruise it would be aimed more at the younger party type, thank you for your thoughts,:)

This cruise is NOT for a retired couple. Gonna be 3 days of drunks, kids, crowds and noise. Hope you like walking and waiting for elevators.
  4. Hi all Looking for advice and recommendations on a short 3 night cruise on Epic from barcelona to france to palma and back to barcelona, can anyone tell me will this short cruise be a party cruise (i.e, stag/hen party) or will it be suitable for retired couple to enjoy, many thanks, never cruised with norweigan before so please fill me in on as much info as possible, thanking you.:)

  5. Thank you, i selected cash as preference to pay,

I went back into the online check in to double check that it as was cash system i selected, and it was but then the website said i had to reprint the sail pass, but i didnt make any changes but i reprinted it, do i take the first print or the second one?

All you really need is your passport, but having the SetSail pass will make things quicker. If you referenced a credit card in your online check-in, then you should have that too.

You don't need the Guest Ticket Booklet unless it contains things like vouchers for transfers.

  6. Only two weeks to go till our first ever cruise, now I am starting to panic, have I got everything prepared, Is it just the Sea Sail Pass (printed copies) and Guest Ticket Booklet (e-doc) and passports that is needed to board LOS in Barcelona?

Have luggage tags all printed & laminated.

Or do i need to print every page of the online checkin?

    Thanks in Advance

  7. Hi Donal

Hope u got my email, few we questions, see when the ship tendered in villefranche and you get a boat to port, does the transfer boat leave and returns at certain times? and do you need to pay for this? and secondly when the ship docks in italy can you get off/return when you want or is there certain times that you allowed to exit/enter?

    Getting excited now

    That would be me!
  8. Have you any pics you could post, we are looking forward to our very first cruise on liberty in may, xxx

Just left Liberty in Ft. Lauderdale ...what a great time!! If you are sailing her make sure not to miss the In the Air show. It is amazing. The other show Saturday Night Fever is also wonderful. Make sure to sit as close to the front of the stage as possible. Its worth getting there early.
  9. hi donal

Thank you, Will email you later, Do you mind me asking are you the guy from highland???

I'm in Letterkenny, and if you fancy meeting up for a coffee, I can answer any questions you have. My e-mail address is madrasneachta - at- gmail - dot - com.

For our first two formal nights, I wore a black suit and bow tie. For our third, I just black slacks and a light blue shirt and tie with no jacket. Last time, we decided to forego formal night and go to Johnny Rocketts. To be honest, I missed it a bit!

One thing I will say. Our first cruise was in June 2008. I was on here from the previous September, and watched videos and read to the extent that I was an 'expert' on cruising and cruise ships before even seeing one! Still though, the first sight of Navigator on the dockside in Barcelona still took my breath away!

    I envy you that 'wow'!

    Donal.

  10. Hi donal

We are also from Donegal, god but its a small world, have about 101 questions ha ha, its a first ever cruise and really dont know what to expect, love reading all the reviews and looking at pics, the sail pass and edocs are all ready for printing, but need sort travel insurance. Sorry for delay in replying xxx

Hi Ireland Cruiser and Claire. Donal from Donegal here, preparing for our fifth cruiser in October, doing the 7 night Liberty run from Barcerlona.

Plenty of cruise pics etc, just mention CC in any messages.

  11. Hi

do i need to have my travel insurance details entered onto the on line check in before i print the sea sail pass?, it says its ready for printing but i dont have the travel insurance sorted yet? can i print them before i get insurance or should i wait and have insurance and enter it before i print?

    many thanks

  12. Hi

You are just too early, i was panicking as well trying to book MTD for may sailing, and i emailed RCCL and they confirmed from 3months prior to sail date you can reserve online, so say around August 20th you be able to reserve online. Ive just done mine yesterday for sailing 14th may and thats approx 3 months to sail date, love all this planning xxx

We're sailing on the November 22nd Indy cruise and I've been trying to make either a MTD reservation or a Specialty Restaurant reservation, but the system says ">> There are currently no My Time Daily Reservations for the selected free time. <<"

Am I trying to do this too early? Or is there a glitch that is not allowing me to do it?

I used a TA to make the cruise reservation itself - however she told me I can use my cruise planner to make all my dinner, activities, and excursion reservations. Would using a TA make a difference?

    Help!!

    Michelle

  13. Thank you, I can totally clueless to all this planning as i have never arranged a cruise before, so just want to make sure that i have everything planned, and any advice is greatly appreciated. x

    Problem:

Tired cruisers arrive onboard and are asked to go downstairs to the dining room to see their table selection and speak with the busy Maitre"D who is getting the ship ready for the first dinner onboard to change their table assignments.

I would tend to agree. I don't think it's a good use of anyone's time to spend the first day worrying about seating. Me, I really couldn't care less where I sit, but I'm going to be traveling with a large group, so I'm sure we will have to make the trek down the first day to hunt for the Maitre'D... Who really has better things to do, I'm sure!!

My dad is a nervous traveler and gets worked up about stupid things like seating, so it is worth it to spend the time getting it worked out so he will focus his nervous energy on something else. Being able to see our table online and see that all the reservations are worked out would be nice. But as a mom of 3 young kids, it's such a treat to not have to cook and to be served for a week that I could sit on the floor and be happy.

  14. I am planning our first cruise on liberty for may, can i ask where would you recommend a lovely place to reserve for dining (2 people) and what time would be best, many thanks x

I make the same recommendations on each survey. Seating in the MDR should be like airlines who allow seat selections. I've been disappointed so many times with the table locations and table mates that I now request a table for 2 for a table # that I'm familiar with, 50 days prior to our cruise, by e-mailing rccl dining. I get an immediate response with confirmation--it has worked fine for us.
  15. Hi

Can you tell me did you use RCI transfers or use private taxi? I am orgainsing our cruise in may from barcelona and i cant decide if i should book transfers with RCI or use private taxi's, what is your advice, many thanks?

Does anybody have experience of using RCI transfer from Barcelona airport to the ship.

    Was it efficient?

    How long did it take?

Did they look after the luggage?

    Anything else we should know?

    Thanks

    Dave
