  1. How do you find out when a ship is scheduled for reposition? I've always wanted to take a cruise on a ship that is coming to our closest port. In other words, let's say my closest port is Mobile or New Orleans. I'd like to fly to NY or NC or CA and cruise my way back home.

Is this possible? Is there a pre determined schedule months or even years in advance?

  2. I'll be on her this Saturday for a 8 day Southern cruise. I'll try to take pics of the menus and post it when I get back :-)

I will be on the Splendor late August - early September and I would appreciate the menus too 😊

    Thanks in advance

  3. I believe you have to decide while on the call. In my mind I was like, if it's more than $200, I'm gonna say no. But when she said 232$ ! Aww man! Oh yeah!

I just hope it's not too noisy in 9280 on the Splendor. This is a mid ship balcony near the elevators. Oh well- it's our first balcony! Woohoo!

I can picture us getting a lunch tray at the lido and taking it to our room for meals on the balcony!

  4. We usually stay in an interior room on the Lido deck or above. We have never stayed in a balcony room. Well, today we are 63 days out from our sail date and the sweetest upgrade fairy called me and offered us a balcony on the lido deck for a cool $232!

I didn't hesitate! My husband has no idea yet and I think I'm going to surprise him! We are celebrating his 61st birthday on the cruise and what a nice surprise!

We are going to Puerto Rico on this 8 day trip!

    What a great deal!

    Sooooo excited!

  5. I agree with the others who say 1:30 should be fine. Even I would go for that one, and I always allow lots of time instead of cutting it close. That being said, I would recommend getting off early rather than hanging around on the ship, and take a taxi to the airport rather than the Carnival transfer.

That sounds like the best idea yet! That way we are not waiting for bus loads of people etc. will I be able to "hail" a taxi at the port? Are they just parked there waiting or should I call a taxi company and make the necessary arrangements to meet me?

I think I'm going to cancel my cruise line transportation...

  6. The airline keeps changing my return flight home :/ originally our return flight home was 3 pm.

Now, they rescheduled my flight for 1:30 pm! Yikes! That means we have to be at Miami airport by noon (?)

I'm afraid of deadlines and rushing around trying not to miss our flight...

I'm scheduled with carnival for post cruise transportation to the airport

I have read horror stories about Miami customs, long lines and embarkation delays.

Then to tackle all of that again at in unfamiliar large airport too! I'm freakin' out!

Should I just schedule the 9 pm flight? And hang out at the airport for a while? Or maybe do a Miami excursion? To kill some time?

Or just not worry about it and wing it?

  7. I just found our excursion -exactly the same - and I just filed to the form. We booked an excursion in St Maarten through the Carnival at a rate of 109.99 and the exact same excursion can be purchased for 69.99 from the vendors website. That's quite a savings! I hope I get it!

  8. I am going on my first premier cruise on the Splendor in August. I understand that there will be a cocktail party for premier guests on the first day/ evening of our cruise (?) Well, I also made a steakhouse reservation for 6pm. I don't want to miss the party.... Can someone please tell me when the cocktail party usually takes place? And where? And should I cancel my steakhouse reservation?
