  1. I also have the Explore 4 package and am sailing in July with DH and 2 DD.  I explicitly asked my TA about whether I would have to purchase another SBP package for my 1 DD (who will be of age at time of cruise) and was told no as Exp4 is a promotion from HAL.  So only DH and I will have the SBP and I will be purchasing beverages for DDs out of pocket.

  2. New to HAL, we were excited to have this cruise booked because it matched the itinerary we wanted. Have been reading all the negative posts about the problems encountered with this ship but have faith that HAL will live up to its reputation and we won't be disappointed.

We are flying into Rome early for a few days of sight seeing , we won't be able to board until 6PM, how long do you think it will take to get our suite ready ? Will the bars be open so we can have celebratory drink before we sail off ?

Joining you with my family on this cruise. We are looking forward to the itinerary! It has been many years since we have been on HAL. We are also staying in Rome 3 nights prior to the cruise and 1 night after in Venice before we return to California.

  3. Was at Belize on 8/10 and had Goff's Cay booked but it was a no go as the Cay was destroyed per the tour operator. Don't think there were any snorkeling tours to be had with the exception of the shark/Ray tours. We ended up doing a city tour with a visit to the howler monkeys.

  4. Saint Greg,

Any idea what a 3 star 100% recommended MSY area airport hotel on Hotwire with free breakfast, free parking, free internet, pool, and airport shuttle for $81.00 on 8/6 to 8/7 would be? We are 2 adults 2 children. Thanks!

  5. Not a problem! They picked us up and dropped is off at the port...pick up outside the gate and drop off was inside. It was a few years ago (summer 2014 I think)...so it was $50 per person then. And yes, the snorkeling equipment was good. Herbert was kind enough to take some pictures and send them to us too. My camera died in the water :(

    Thanks!

  6. We were set up to do the barrier reef/sightseeing tour. It was pretty windy the day we were there so we ended up leaning the reef and heading over to lobster city after maybe 20-30 minutes. We did sightseeing, the iguana park, snorkeling, and finally the monkey park. It was just hibby, our youngest, and myself. Can't wait to take my other kids there next year! Either location is neat...lobster city is more shallow but we saw a LOT more than lobster.I think I'll try the barrier reef again next time.

Sorry for all the questions! Were you picked up at the cruise terminal? Did it cost $55/each. Was the snorkeling equipment decent?

    Sounds like a good tour.

    Thanks!

  7. Daniel's cousin(I believe), Herbert, runs Roatan Ocean Adventures. We had a wonderful time with them both: snorkeling, touring the island, seeing iguanas and spending lots of time at Daniel's place. If anyone is looking for the full deal, I recommend Roatan Ocean Adventures. I second the person who said this excursion is why we are going back to Roatan next year.

Which tour with ROA did you do?

    Thanks

  8. His name is Radu Urdu - actually had the pleasure of meeting him on the Breeze this summer. He seemed embarassed when I mentioned that JH called him Mr. Radu. Very nice man. Takes beautiful pictures. He gave a seminar during our cruise as well.

  9. Stacey,

So loved your review. We are doing a similar trip in August on the Breeze! I noticed your DH had on longer shorts in most pictures - was that ok with the Vatican or any of the other churches? My DH lives in shorts and I would love to think he could wear longer shorts and get by! Also, you wore great sundresses, too. Any problems with bare shoulders? Any hints would be appreciated. We have 2 RIL tours booked for Rome and Florence - so excited!!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
