A question to anyone who has used NIE tours in Dominica.

i have an upcoming cruise and booked a tour with NIE tours months ago.

i had the reply from PayPal but have not seen any email from NIE.

How close to your sail date did you get an informational email from them?

Should I be patient ( it’s about 3 weeks away) or should I be calling them?

I am thinking of buying some bottles of rum to give as gifts.  

I am assuming the cruise line will take them when we get back on the ship and keep them for me until the cruise is over.

is that correct?

Do any of you know if there is a limit as to how many bottles I bring back into the US? 

Is 5 ok?

I prepaid a deposit and then paid $45 pp at the end of the tour.

We used them on the August 5 cruise on the Carnival Fascination and the Jewel Tour was outstanding!! The snorkeling was great. The walk to the water is a little rugged. Wear sturdy water shoes. The Ti Tou Gorge.....OMG. The Trafalgar Falls were beautiful! We got to enjoy bottled water and local beer. Don't hestitate to book them.

Does anyone know if NIE is still doing tours? I have put a deposit online, just got paypal receipt and no confirmation from the actual tour company.

I have emailed them three times and have not gotten any response.

Do I just take a "wait and see" approach, or do I sacrifice my deposit and book a different tour though another company?

If anyone has used them recently, I booked the Jewel tour. Some very old posts mention it ( I had a hard time finding any current ones) and that there were extra fees that they needed to pay on the day of the tour for admissions to stops. Does anyone know if that's still the case, or does the tour fee now cover everything?

We enjoy wine with dinner and will have the premium drink package this cruise. Is there anyone in the Luminae or MDR that can recommend a glass to go with each course that would be covered in the package?

this will be our first Celebrity cruise and we will be staying in s sky suite. Do you tip your butler and if so, daily or just at end of cruise?

Any tips on what he/she can do for us would also be appreciated

We had problems when we were put in a Handicap Suite. I am 5’8” and my husband is 6’1”. It was problematic. Don’t remember the sinks as we are used to them being low. The shower had no lip so any lengthy shower results in a very wet bathroom. I had to use the spa shower to wash my hair. The clothes racks were about 20 inches shorter than normal. This works for shirts and slacks but no so good for dresses. Hope you are successful in getting switched to a regular suite.

When I booked my first (and only) upcoming Sky Suite all 4 perks were included. They were all listed, with the prices, and each one was minused out for the same amount but with an odd code.

I need an accessible cabin. Ask your room steward to set up a dam around the shower using rolled up pool towels. I’ve found this works very well in soaking up water and preventing water from spreading out into the rest of the bathroom. The sink is regular height but with no cabinetry below to allow for a wheelchair.

We booked a sky suite and the only two left were handicapped accessible.

Just how much lower are the sinks? My husband is 6’6” so obviously not desirable.

Any chance of getting a switch into a regular one?

Also, I booked online and was told it would include the premium beverage package. I don’t see it listed anywhere on my booking.

Is that something I need to worry about and take action now?
