  1. All beaches are public. Eagle, Palm and Arashi are all great beaches. You can take the bus, or hop a cab, both are accessible near the cruise port. You will need to rent a chair at each location.

My current favorite restaurant is Yemanja. http://www.yemanja-aruba.com/main/ A little bit pricey, but the food is amazing!! This restaurant is located downtown and is within walking distance of the cruise port. You may want to make reservations.

    You will love Aruba!

  2. I was summoned for Fed jury duty in February. Wrote a message explaining my conflict on the mail back paperwork. No phone number or person to call for response. Went back over the paperwork and found a site to login to. Entered name and juror number and a message showed "Dismissed from Jury Duty". Very fortunate.

Same situation for me, I was stressing, until I found the website and found I was dismissed. Make sure to make a copy of the dismissal, just in case.

  3. Have used the valet service several times. It has worked well each time. We were docking in Fort Lauderdale and going to FLL. I am hoping that with an 11:45 am flight out of FLL that we can use it again. So far love this service!

I believe the flights need to be after 11:30 am, so you should be good.

  4. I recently bought packing cubes for my upcoming cruise. What I'll be doing is packing them based on full outfits. So for example, I'm arriving 4 days pre cruise and one cube will have my outfits for those 4 days.

My last cruise is the first time I packed based on very specific outfits. I thought I was going overboard, but it actually worked flawlessly and only ended up changing one outfit. I'll be doing this for all future trips to make things much easier on myself.

If everyone has packing cubes, its easier to pack but as well you only have a small portion of your clothes out at a time. Have a great cruise!

I've been using packing cubes for years. As the cube is emptied, put the dirty clothes in. That way, there is not much to do when packing for disembarking.

  5. Your pictures are beautiful. Its funny how you got a picture of my office building. The 1st picture in post #31, the building on the right is my office. This is in Hoboken, NJ directly on the Hudson River facing the West Village.

I am a WTC survivor of 9/11, my company moved us to Hoboken. Its a great location, especially with the view of the city. Your photos of the 9/11 memorial brought back many memories.

  6. We live in Massapequa, and it's about an hour to the port from here. Usually leave around 9am, just after rush hour. We take the Southern State to the Belt, over the Verazzano. (We usually take Rt 440 north over the Bayonne Bridge up to the port, but the bridge is closed for construction) Then, over the Goethals to the NJ tpke north to exit 14A, over the Newark Bay extension bridge - after the tolls we follow the signs to Rt 440 south to the cruise port. This detour adds about 20 minutes to the trip.

There is more construction at exit 14A. Once you go through the toll plaza, follow signs to Avenue E. This is much less congested than following 440 as there are tons of trucks on 440. Once on Ave E, take your first left, (there is a Cruise Port sign). Follow this road around, (curves to the right). At the light, make your left into the cruise port.

    Enjoy your cruise!!!

PS, here is the Port Authority phone #, you can check to see if the Bayonne Bridge is open when you return. 718-390-2502
