  1. I apologize in advance if this has been covered before, my time is limited on research. I need thoughts on Grand Turk vs Nassau. I am trying to decide between a cruise in December during Christmas for myself (53 y old female) and my very active 82 yr old Mother. I have been to Nassau and she has not. Neither of us have been to  Grand Turk. I’m a diver but she is not but she is willing to try snorkeling. The other ports are Princess Cay with Nassau and Half Moon Cay with Grand Turk. thank you in advance for the feedback

  2. Question about the Hub app, we have a large group and would like to use the chat feature to keep in touch with everyone. Do we need to enter everyone’s folio number to contact them or do you use their regular cell number?

Yes you should be able to connect all the people in your group with their FOLIO number. They will then show up on your friends list. We did not get notification however if the app was not open. We did get responses later after we opened the app again. It was a bit delayed but, It was a great way to locate each other on a large ship :-)

  3. We enjoyed using the app on our recent cruise to see hit like by the activities we each individually wanted to do in our group, then we could compare. It would show how many people wanted to do a certain activity (comedy club, show, movie etc). Made it much easier to plan and we did not have to carry around the fun times paper with us.

  4. If it was simply an alternator failure, the testing by USCG is legally not required, as the main generators are not considered to be propulsion equipment, but even if done as part of SOLAS port state, should only take an hour or two. I don't see that provisioning would be much different than a normal turn-around, so I don't see either one impacting boarding. Even if USCG wanted to do a port state inspection and crew drill, they would more than likely have done it this week when no pax are onboard, so there would be no disruption of service.

Someone posted on a board yesterday right before the official announcement from Carnival was sent that the Coast Guard stated the 11/5 cruise was cancelled. I saw it. People were attacking her basically -so she removed her post.

  5. Confusing part is why are we still suppose to board late if the reason was to do the turnover. I am concerned about us being able to go on Saturday. I would hope if we are going and still leaving late Carnival would at least let us board at regular times......this is terrible waiting for yes, no, maybe or I don't know. So many rumors floating around it is not even funny.......Carnival should make an update at least to the ones who have already received emails about next 2 cruises.....

I agree we.. 38 other ladies and myself (we did have 47 but 8 have already cancelled) are suppose to sail as a group next Thursday, a week from today. We are just waiting to see what happens with the next cruise and what time it arrives back in port.

  6. Does anyone have pictures of any current Liberty menus? We are sailing Thanksgiving week. Thanks for any help!:)

Yes, I need to see them too anybody? I am traveling with a group of 45+ ladies on the November 10th sailing - 4 days to Cozumel. The Dinner menus would be great as some of the ladies have never cruised before. Thank you :D

  7. Uh, not exactly.

The dolphins that are killed and used for meat are the ones that are leftover after they pick out the best ones to be sold to marine parks and swim with the dolphin programs.

Where did you think the swim with the dolphin programs get their dolphins from? I will tell you: captive breeding and capture programs like the one shown in The Cove. Also, even all of the captured ones don't live to make it to the Dolphin show as many die in transport.

So for every ONE dolphin that makes it to a swim with the dolphins program their are numerous ones that die. (I don't have the exact number)

Really? If you really loved them you wouldn't support an industry that causes the death of so many. :(

Swimming in the ocean and seeing dolphins in the wild would be an awesome way to see them.

This is the problem with our modern society. Anyone who points out the facts and doesn't go along with something is a "hater". This has jack squat to do with hate. This has to do with exposing the truth about these programs and letting people decided how they want to act when they know the truth. Some choose to hide their head in the sand instead.

What experience is that? You participated in a dolphin swim program. You were then presented with information about them that you chose to ignore and not look at. I'm not sure what you have to share?

Is your message: Swim with the Dolphins programs are just fine because YOU went to one in the Bahamas??? (even though you don't care to hear the truth behind them)

Onenight/Carl-what information are you refferring to that I had prior to my dolphin swim. You do not know what you are talking about or misread something. You do not know me! You do not know my heart & I sure will not let you judge my love for dolphins & ocean life. You are a bully because someone does not agree with you. Bla bla bla -time to get over yourself. There are many many problems with our society however, I am not one of them I assure you. I guarantee you that you do something that I equally detest or disagree with in society. I will not arrgue with you. You have your opinion & I have mine. I do not care what you think about me either way. Take care Peace to You

  8. omeinv -why not the Sand Dollar?

I will be there in November. It will be my first ocean water dive after getting certified. None of the other people in my group on the cruise will be diving with me. I felt it was best to book through my cruise line since I will be taking this excursion alone with other people from my cruise boat. I will have much less experience than poster.

  9. I started watching The Cove, it was about Dolphins being killed to used as sushi meat. What does that have to do with swimming with dolphins? I refuse to watch that part of it to get through to the relevant part (if there is one). I love dolphins & ocean animals. I did swim with dolphins in The Bahamas 3 years ago during my cruise. The place where we went did not have the dolphins push or drag us across the water nor did we grab on to their fins. We were told not to touch them in their face. I dove under the water with one & it was an awesome experience. I will be getting certified to scuba dive before my next cruise in November so that I can go scuba diving in Cozumel. I understand all the "haters" of the dolphin swim programs & you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I just wanted to share my experience with the poster. Having said that, I do not recommend the options available in Cozumel for this activity due to the fact that most of them do include grabbing the dolphins by the fins or the dolphin push etc.,
